I am about half way through Far Cry 4.
This map is huge, and playing on hard settings means quite often you have to restart missions. I wonder how different experience is if you select different person, Amita or Sabal, for main story line. Played arcade - Cadillacs and Dinosaurs for RGL. |

Worth doing both paths, but don't expect a world of difference as you're not going to really see the aftermath of the choice. You have to imagine it.
Also worth noting that both Far Cry 4 and Far Cry 5 have a secret ending - you may not even have to look it up, the game flat out tells you what to do to trigger it. Make the one in Far Cry 4 the last thing you see before you stop playing it, it just chronologically works the best in my opinion. |

Been playing Resident Evil 7. Eh. If you play it with a controller, make sure it is a brand new controller so the aim is so precise you could shoot the hairs off of a fly. Because in this game you sometimes need to shoot the hairs off of a fly. Well not exactly but wow is it hard to aim a pistol at the head of a moving target. Unless you're using a mouse.
Also if the game seems brutal, that's because the difficulty levels are insane. Easy is way too easy and normal is Prepare to Die edition. Plus the difficulty is upside down because due to severe resource constraints early on you are always in big trouble. Later in the game you have unlocked several weapons and will be hoarding bullets and crafting materials to make stronger bullets so it kind of becomes a cakewalk. Cool game though, once you have played it once and know where the many, many hidden item pickups are so the aforementioned resource problems are no longer really a thing. There are about three times more than you would think, boy those sneaky devils hid them well. In every nook and cranny and around every corner, really. |

I'm playing NieR:Automata and it is quite interesting. 'Finished' it for the first time two days ago and now on my second playthrough I can see why people really like the game. The mix of bullet hell and melee action with RPG elements (some of which are quite poorly explained) isn't exactly my cup of tea, but the story is intriguing enough to stay with it a bit longer.

Bought the Fanatical charity bundle yesterday night and since I couldn't sleep I played Vampire Survivors that I got in the bundle this morning. Big mistake! Now I'm hooked and will have to play hours and hours of it before I can get over it

Monument on the Amstrad CPC. The balls are killing me (8m46s in
[ Show youtube player ]), both in spirit and in game. lol. It's not so much a game as an incomplete prototype that was likely sold as budget software. But IMO it is a beautiful game visually. A peak in low colour art.

Two... games?
1) Alien Isolation. Got in the mood for it again after playing RE7, pretty similar games. A butt-clencher and a cinematic experience in its truest form. The only thing I don't like are the human interactions. Every now and then you have to sneak past a couple of idiots with guns and they're so monumentally stupid that they tend to just ping pong back and forth right where you need to go so of course you do what I do - throw a noise maker, let the alien kill them. Goodbye tension or challenge, its more of a comedy at that point. I think that aspect of the game needed a little more time in the oven. and 2) ... Farming Simulator 2022. I never expected to get into this but I found a really interesting youtube video where people were doing all kinds of fun stuff and from there I rolled into several more youtube videos in which people were doing other fun stuff and I got really impressed by how expansive and deep this sim is and yet still pretty accessible - to a point. As someone completely unfamiliar with the subject, I do need Youtube to guide me because there are a ton of machines to use and the game kind of expects you to know what they are. That's fine though. I would recommend to do the same thing I did before you purchase - watch someone else play it first. It's work, not a game. So make sure you will have fun doing the work. |

Had a bit of weirdness in Skyrim today:
Fast Travelled to Whiterun Then I hear a sword being draw then a guard is attacking me I tried running away but that just attracted more to me. Re: Loaded Attacked again --- killed guard attacked again --- killed him Third guard = said he would clear my bounty for 1500. WTF ?!?! |

Just finished Far Cry 4.
Just strange how I was missing learning of Yogi and Reggie, but missed some nice quotes such as 'Have I ever tell you definition of insanity?' Not playing anything at the moment, taking it easy... not spending too much time in front of a computer. (except @ work) |

Pool of Radiance on the C64. There's not much difference between the C64 version and the Amiga version! WTF. Well, apart from the disk changing and glacial screen updates on the C64 version (although emulator speed can help with the latter).
