Great work Hedeon! I just got this working on my Sonnet and it's a fantastic job you've done.

One thing I noticed is that InitPPC only works if the config jumper is open (and there is a software trap to ensure this) but my FastATA won't even let my A4000 boot unless config is closed. Is config=open a fundamental limitation/requirement of the Sonnet on a Mediator or could a future build also work with config=closed?

It's historical. Back when some stuff was hard coded. I'll take a look tomorrow.

It's now running on my system with the config jumper closed with the latest build. If it still doesn't work, please post a pciinfo dump.

Thanks Hedeon. Based on a quick look, this seems to be working for me (and has cured some weird behaviour I had under build 248 with RAWBInfo). But I need to test a bit more to say for sure.

Just to close this off, build 252 is working fine for me with config=closed. I think my remaining problems with a few programs are due to lack of memory (on the Sonnet, not me!)

Which programmes would that be?

Can anyone please check MAME WOS? I have it running nicely, but do not know, how to use Mame options such as cheat, rotate screen etc. Seems like it does not accept CLI arguments except few amiga port based ones.
With WarpMAME using options works, but WarpMAME is significantly slower than MAME WOS.

I think the new variable Hedeon added was a replacement for the speedhack executable that made WES MAME fast. So I would give that a try.

DisL2Flush (0 or 1): Disables the full flush of the L2 cache. Can speed up things if it doesn't crash. Default = 0.

@Hedeon: I can't get the WarpUP decoder in AmigaAMP to work. On loading the display still says "OS3 - 68k" not "WARPUP" and it crashes with a data storage exception as soon as it tries to play an MP3

Just tried, but I can not notice any difference.

Every modification of something in ENVARC needs a reboot. What exactly did you do with DisL2Flush?.

Where did you get the external decoder? You made sure in the options it is activated? And not mpega library?

Yes, I know.
I made "setenv DisL2Flush 1" and then copied the file from ENV: into ENVARC:sonnet directory.
Still no speed effect on WarpMAME.
I also tried DisHunkPatch / Sysspeed so I can see env variables work.

The decoder was from Aminet: http://aminet.net/package/mus/play/AmigaAMP-Decoder-WUP, put in the appropriate directory and selected "external" in the prefs for MP2 and MP3.

I just put a system back together after changing things around a little so I haven't tested lately.
DisL2Flush does not work for me, but the powerpc_speedhack does, that's attached.

To use just drop it in C: or anywhere and run it once before launching WES MAME. Running it again will disable it, at least I think that's what it's supposed to do.

Does it say it failed opening external Library? Also, is this the same version as on Amigaamp.de?

Don't thank me it's all our lord and savior Hedeon's amazing work.

Here is a current faster-mem version of the powerpc.library for anyone that wants it, I only tested it a little bit but still seems fine for me.

Thumbs up

Last weekend I organized small local Amiga party (link here, but sorry only in Czech lang.). I have shown two Sonnet Amigas with the new powerpc.library. I shown Shogo finally working for me and then I connected both Amigas to network and shown Quake running as deathmatch (2x SonnetPPC Amiga with 1x CSPPC Amiga).

Once again thank you Hedeon and others helping me with stability issues. I think PR is good and now we need more Sonnets sprread to public. German guys how far are you with reproduction? ;o)

Does anyone know the correct commandline for the warpmess emu?
for example I tried: warpkickstart -mess nes -cart 1942.nes , but it does not work.
And another thing, how to run amigenerator with correct colors? I mean the full version that needs hicolor, the turbo one runs in correct colors, but the full not.

@grelbfarlk No error message and I get the same experience using the last v3.21 AmigaAMP and v2.20 WUP decoder from Amigaamp.de. See the register dump attached.
