You need to clean the inside of the pins too. Strip down a q-tip or something to get inside and if you see black gunk still coming up, keep at it.
The other part is that whatever power supply you are using, has at least 20A on the 5V rail, that is not tied to the 12V load.

If you have a multimeter measure the 5V on the edge of the motherboard next to the RAM. The loose rule of thumb is if this is less than 4.85V then you are likely in for some problems, but depending on the power supply less can still work just fine.

So did a full clean.. Did not help. Was also not dirty.
When I connected the floppy (which was disconnected for all the testing) it was really really unstable. So yes that should be the psu..
So just bought a bracket and some cables to connect an atx..
