Some not Amiga games. Slipstream nice retro racer, Final Vendetta fighting game in style of Final Fight and Doon 3 Phobos - it is mod, but by size and quality it should be called expansion.

Just finished (with save states) the only two from the ground up commercial AGA exclusive platform games of the 90's Tin Toy Adventure and Marvin's Marvelous Adventure, it was an adventure! I liked them both and found the later levels best on both. If you've only played the rainbow levels on Marvin there is a lot more to discover. The game starts out kind of slow but there are 60! levels and once you get the jetpack and especially the night time levels are very well done. It's too bad that more AGA platformers didn't come out in the 90's, there were two unreleased that I know about Gamer https://hol.abime.net/6435 and The Game Machine https://hol.abime.net/4775 I guess Kang Fu counts, I've only ever played the first level of that one since it doesn't work on my Retroarch, will have to play through it at some point despite it's horrible reputation. My expectations are so low I'll probably be impressed.

Continuing my Arcade games goal for the year I beat Gundhara - Juudan Arashi on Saturday. It was a pretty fun run and gun top down shooter that I really enjoyed. Would have been more fun with another person to play with.
On Monday I beat Halo Combat Evolved for the Original Xbox. I had only played Xbox CE multiplayer in 2003 which was the first time I really got to see the game in action. I've had it for a long time but never got around to playing it. All I have to say is it was worth the wait to finally play it and I see what I was missing all those years ago. Nearly 22 years later I think it still holds up well both as a game and a FPS game. |

I recently completed all three endings of Blasphemous, in preparation of the upcoming Blasphemous 2. It is one of those games where the difficultly is backwards, it starts pretty tough and ends pretty easy although the third "best" ending was a little challenge given that you get two extra challenging bosses and existing endgame bosses get an extra phase. But at that point you're already on your third run through the game (probably, I cannot recommend doing ending C on your first run) so you play the game like a literal ninja. When it comes to 2D Dark Soulsy games, there are only so many tricks the devs can pull with the bosses so eventually you kind of see it coming.
There is more content in new game+, but... that's where the difficulty overtakes the fun for me. It becomes work to play the game. |

First thing to check - do I have that game, and of course, I do since 2019?! Those per-pandemic times... it is like different era...
I assume you recommend it?! (being team 17 game and all ) I am playing FarCry 2 and this is really shitty game where you constantly to look for save places because you can be run by car or killed in next 10-15 steps. There is no clear enemy out from post option as far as I see, and going from point A to B means going through 2-3 if not more enemy barricaded points...(or you can try and run as fast as possible ) and malaria part is shitty... Lost count how many times I have to restart some missions... and still not even @ 20%. Last edited by Anubis; 06 July 2023 at 13:37. |

Hmm, I only buy the occasional Humble Choice now that it is pretty much the same price and you can just buy one and cancel afterwards. Which other one are you subscribed to?

Hell yes, near perfect game. Just know one thing: when you find a giant dude with a face growing out of his chest (this game is really weird by the way) that offers to upgrade your health vials - you lose a health vial each time you do that which can really suck if you have only the starting two. So don't do that until you've collected at least one extra health vial already, I would even wait until you have found and filled two extras.
That little oopsy triggered me to do a restart, so I wanted to spare you that |

Just had a quick go and the graphics are fantastic The mix of pixel art and modern effects works nicely. The character selection is interesting and I'm sure I'll play with at least half of them. The combat system is fun, but I don't like that you don't see what kind of items you get after finishing a battle. I'll play a bit more later, but so far it looks like a great game
Edit: Played some more and I *really* like the combat system. Also figured out that 'items obtained' without any items just means gold Last edited by TCD; 07 July 2023 at 18:51. |
