A new Doomer Boards Project is out: Immortal Warfare
Really interesting pallette again and the level design follows a very familar computer game series Played half way through today and it doesn't disappoint |

Replayed Warhammer 40K down of war campaign to the end, and now playing Down of War - Winter assault - order campaign. It has been close to 20 years since I played this. (still have first one boxed and second one purchased of eBay back in the day.
Winter Assault has half of the missiosn, but each is multi-stage with switch between fractions, making it actually a longer experience. (if you play both Order and Chaos, then you have actually more missions if you play both end missions) BTW, took a bit to find HD patch to be able to play in 1080p. |

Beat a few more games the last few days.
Beat Super C on the NES on Friday. It was hard but I loved playing it. Yesterday I beat Sonic the Hedgehog for the Genesis which I had never played any of the Sonic games and like Super C I had a lot of fun playing it. On the opposite end I beat D-Force for the SNES also on Friday and all I can say that it was a game. I didn't have that much fun playing it. |

Play Sonic for Sega Master System. Much better experience imho. I played if multiple times to end. There is even C64 port that is really good, but requires quite a lot of memory on C64. (which C64 MAXI has ) Super C was lots of fun, did you play Life Force? One game that was surprisingly good was Air Fortress. |

Nothing wrong with it, but those are 2 completely different games, and most don't even know. As I've said, I prefer SMS version as it is not just run from left to right as fast as possible. Have you played SMS version (and C64 port) yet? |

Neither is the Genesis version, only the green hill zone is like that. After that it becomes pretty slow actually - and why I don't like the game in general. Snakey levels, have to push and swim a lot, wait for traps to finish, stand around on sloooooowly moving platforms. Bounce around pinball bumps. The game immediately breaks its own promise.

@Anubis Ah, okay. That is a fair point I was surprised how well the SMS is made without the 'blast processing'. For sure worth playing both.
SMS: yes, C64: no. Guess I'll add it to the ever growing list of games to play then |

I know, one day you will get to all your games from the list, just like me.
Finished Order campaign - WH40K Dawn of War - Winter Assault and started Chaos one. Annoying main orc warboss talking is actually quite good. His war-banner looks just like something I would create |

Gabriel Knight, the first one, on PC (italian floppy version)
never had the time to go deep into this, always wanted i think i have finally reached to 'pass' the first step, reaching to make the story flow to progress maybe the translation have helped me with this one, its curious cause normally i always play the english versions some similarities with Cruise for a Corpse, in the dialogues flow btw, seems catchy trying the honest way (no tube videos help) |

I enjoyed the Gabriel Knight 20th Anniversary edition too - enhanced.
Great game Beast Within is one of the best FMV and sequels ever |

Really need to play that one again. I can only remember how funny the American actor that played Gabriel sounded when speaking German |

Dean Erickson
https://www.deanerickson.com/ I replayed it again recently - still great. The 3D section through the tunnels at the end is a bit naff (hate action type sequences in adventure games) But still holds up really well |

Me too. I have all four games (first part original and 20th anniversary) on both Steam and GOG I'll finish GK1 and then play the other two games (never played the third one, but I heard it is pretty bad).

Hands up - never played the 3rd either
From the era where they tried to do every game 3D and just looks terribly dated, whist the original 2D ones stand up to the test of time |

NO. If it doesn't qualify as an RPG dungeon, it's not fun. |

nice to know the second chapter is still valid or even better
im on day4 atm (first one), yes the story works and also all the different characters behaviour deeper than ie Broken Sword (still a good one tho) i have encountered a couple of crashes accessing to some locations in the further days, hope this not become a severe issue further on; maybe caused from the translated version EDIT too bad, unavoidable crash at the begin of day 5 ill jump back into the english one Last edited by kremiso; 12 May 2023 at 09:25. |

nevermind, day 6 atm, the game seems starting to be very difficult now, also closing in some limited locations still catchy |
