Played bit Wolfenstein 3D (Recalbox PORT games). It was funny to be able to use controller and have save state and rewind.

Also last night while testing installation of Recalbox 9.0 on one old laptop, played some Megadrive/Genesis Sensi. With rewind easy to score 12:0.

Started playing Gabriel Knight - Sins of the Fathers Anniversary (again). The graphics look off, but at least most of the voice acting works.

I had no inspiration at all to try something new so I just installed Far Cry 4 again and started tearing sh*t up. Sometimes you just need to commit mindless violence to get back in the groove.

Such a good game! I've only played it on Android SCUMM but the writing is some of the best I've read in an adventure game.

Yep, when I played it for the first time I was shocked how good it is Sadly they turned Gabriel Knight II into a FMV game...

While not posting last week I have been keeping up with beating one Arcade game a week.
Two weeks ago I beat the original Tekken again. Going back again to a game that I remembered playing in an Arcade back in the 90's its quite jarring how far along the franchise has come over the years.

So last week I beat Aliens Vs Predator the Arcade game. It marks the first Arcade core that I beat on MiSTer. This was another one where I had played about 21 years in an Aracde and had beaten it before about 9 years ago but wanted to give it a shot again this time on MiSTer and yea it still holds up all these years later.

For this week I beat Capcom's Quiz and Dragons. I had played it before on the Capcom Classics Collection - Volume 2 for the PS2 in the past. Its certainly a product of its time and while I didn't waste my time playing it I don't feel I need to go back and play it again anytime soon.

For non-arcade games I beat Championship Pro-Am on the Genesis and Crossfire. For Championship Pro-Am I had beaten R.C Pro Am on the NES and R.C Pro Am II about two years ago but never played the Genesis version. It was certainly the challenging game but totally worth it.

For Crossfire, well that was just what I happen to come across when I had my MiSTer on and enjoyed that one as well. The Genesis library is something that I don't have a lot of experience and I want to play more its library this year.

Finished Megaman on NES (again ) and more than half way through Bomberman 2 (also NES) and played bit of BonkĀ“s Adventure on Turbo Graph / PC Engine. Once done will probably play through rest of NES Megaman's games.

Playing a bit of Virtual Pinball after getting the colour DMD displays to work - some are really cool.

Just completed Rise of the Tomb Raider - again, really good, will probably start Shadow of the Tomb raider next. All 3 are great examples of a decent reboot

Art Style: Cubello on the Wii is certainly arty and just as certainly a good entry in the series.

Finished Bomberman 2 (NES) and Bonk's Adventure (PC Engine).

Was testing some stuff and played bit of Halo (xBox), Daytona (Saturn), Taken 3 and FF VII (PSX), Taken 5 (PSP). All played on emulators on Steam Deck.

Once done, played couple of levels of Lionheart (Amiga) on steam deck.

Trying Benefactor again. Tried it a while ago, and it was a bit tricky for my old brain/reflexes, so I stop pretty quickly. But recently decided to try it again.
It's a fun action puzzle game, just the jumps sometimes are tricky for me.
I almost gave up again trying to jump over the water on the 2nd (or 3rd?) screen, as I kept falling into the water.. over and over and over... But I finally got it... Whew...
I hope I can keep making progress, because it is fun. I'm just not sure my gaming skills are up to it...

Benefits of having kids who love gaming...

To get him components for computer, I had to upgrade mine first... (sounds familiar? )

Star Trek 25th Anniversary on Amiga AGA! It's a bit jolting how much more polished the PC Talkie version is in both graphics AND sound (from the walkthrough videos when I get stuck)! I guess we needed a CD32 version! Great puzzles though! "It all seems quite logical Captain!"

...isn't it scary that we are now 31 years past the release of this anniversary game AND the release of the A1200! We are further away from the A1200's release now than we were from the initial release of the original Star Trek series in 1992!

The actual 25th Anniversary was in 1991 (was that the release of the PC disk version perhaps?) but the facts still stand!

Edit: The PC Disk Version was a year late in 1992 but we had to wait until 1994 for the AGA non-talkie version! That's actually 29 years ago whereas the game was released 28 years after the start of the series! We are 1 year further away from the game's release on the 'miggy than the AGA game's release was from the start of the series!
