I am glad people seem to be enjoying playing the demo

Something I forgot to mention, there is a Joystick/CD32 controller test program hidden in the options menu (OPTIONS->JOYTEST)

If anyone has any issues with their CD32 pads or joysticks, please use the test program to see how MetroSiege reads the controller.

Also if you see Windows 11 defender flagging the build as a virus, we are pretty confident it's a false positive (game was created on a Mac and has no windows binaries). We have submitted the release to Microsoft asking for the false positive to be resolved. I don't know if they will fix it any time soon however.

It's the CD32 iso that defender seems to randomly flag. I might make a release without the ISO for those that get the virus detection and don't feel confident ignoring it.

EDIT: We have uploaded an alternate archive that does not include the CD32 version, which at least for us seems to make defender happy.

As mentioned before, a true AAA title.
Just about everything is top-notch.

It feel a bit odd to me that grab move is forward + fire, and you can't grab opponent that way if you just wanna grab him by walking on him from straight top, or bottom.
But then again, not every brawler need to be copy/paste mechanics from Capcom games, and I liked to play more with Kim anyway, and from what I can tell, she doesn't even have a grab move, and it's more like a special move.

Yeah.. Kim is a badass!!!
Didn't thought I would like her so much.

Everything just feel so polished, and I especially liked the "cinematic" beginning on the second stage, with screen going fast... it remind me a lot on Comic Zone vibe... which is a great thing.
Atmosphere is amazing... music and sound too.
10/10

Thanks guys for such an impressive tech demo.
Kudos to all who participated.

Great game. Not the biggest fan of the genre, but this feels like an AGA title being played on A500 with 1mb of ram. Congratulations.

A little bug report: After finishing level 1 and the cop throws away the shield and the other thing in the other arm it is just looping that animation over and over and never goes to level 2. On 2nd run it was ok. If it happens again I will make a video.

We have a beta version that *probably* fixes the issue you saw.

Beta builds are available at https://metrosiege.com/download/beta/

Until we've had a chance to test these builds extensively we won't move them to the main page. In this case the changes are quite minor, but there is always a chance the "fix" causes new problems.

Longest time playing an Amiga game for quite a while! Fantastic quality and fun to boot!

One thing though, i see PAL and NTSC is auto-detected, i think a PAL/NTSC option in the menu would be better for the final game, it runs so much nicer in NTSC!

But great job everyone involved!

Very impressed, just having another go as when I got to what I presume is the end of stage 1 and it stopped scrolling to I guess load the boss I just got a garbage screen but could still hear sound. CD32 with TF330 using iso burnt to cd

Joytest test good but you need a way to quit if using a CD32. Luckily I have a keyboard plugged in, also the demo mode

I like the game so much, that I've decided to make a banner of it.

Here is the result:

Really looking forward to play the full game.

Second bug report: when playing in NTSC, it's not possible to jump with a CD32 (compatible) pad... blue button strangely becomes "pause" button, and jump button maps nowhere.

Tested on an A1200/TF1260/KS 3.2.2.

Just out of pure curiosity:

If you removed all parallax from game, and animated bg objects, would it be possible to add, for example, 5th enemy, or gain more colors?
I am not saying you should do it, just curious if you would get something from it.

My gosh this game seems so fantastic just from this demo!

Art style is great, audio is really good, controls (both with CD32 pad or single button joystick) worked brilliantly. Gameplay was top notch (no noticeable Frame rate or other issues), it was so much fun !

My 9yr old Son really likes it too - I would say 2-player was so much more fun than single player.

I'm not too sure if this is the best place for feedback, but, a couple of thoughts.

Is it possible that when playing 2 player, if both players choose the same character that player 2 has alternative character colours? A couple of times (esp. on the subway train level) my son and I got slightly confused about who was who for a second or so (we both played Kim)

Difficulty - I found Single player noticeably more difficult than 2-player, with 2-player feeling maybe a touch on the "easy" side. Is it possible to tweak any settings so the difficulty between 1 and 2 player is less pronounced? (maybe meeting them more towards the "middle" with single player being a little easier and 2-player a tad more difficult?).

No bugs were noticed by me on my couple of play throughs.

(Hardware - Towered A1200, equipped with piStorm32+pi4B, OS3.9BB2 (on SDCard in pi), 31.ROMS, Mediator SX + Sound, Network & USB PCI cards).
