hi dlfrsilver,
sorry but i`m not trying to copy the disk, i was offering it as a solution, as a working disk 2 as requested?. BTW I own a Kryo, but I`ve not used it yet, all my machines are backed for a house move, now on hold due to the lockdown Cheers |

Hi dlfrsilver and wizard1, thanks for your interest in my request.
I can dump both disks 1 (that work) but I can't dump disks 2 since they were used for other games and now they are formatted waiting for a good ipf image (or raw files) to write on them. @ dlfrsilver I have your email, later this evening, if you want, I'll send you the dump of the first disks. Thanks, ciao! |

Abaddon has uploaded IPF #2923 Downhill Challenge to the Zone!
It should be noted that the SPS Database lists this as the EU version but it's actually the US version released by Broderbund! The only EU release was called Eddie Edwards Super Ski but that release is not IPF'd yet only IPF #2492 from one of the the A500 Starter Kits is available. |

Speaking of 2923.
The database distro from SPS seems to be mixed up for this entry. Code:
<artefact> <id>2923</id> <date>2010-01-01</date> <updated>2010-06-28</updated> <name>Downhill Challenge</name> <namereal>Downhill Challenge</namereal> <release>retail</release> <type>standalone</type> <version>v1.0</version> <region>EU</region> <languages> <language>en</language> </languages> <system> <target> <name>Amiga</name> <model>OCS</model> <type>PAL</type> </target> </system> <media amount="1"> <item> <id>0</id> <name>Face-OffIceHockey.ipf</name> <crc>BCD964A1</crc> <size>1049214</size> </item> </media> <info> <id source="hol">400</id> </info> </artefact> Something's rotten in the state of Denmark. |

That should be #1670, the online SPS Database shows it as such! I think Denis did mention there was an error with this title as he said this: "However, i have noticed a mistake, the IPF 2923, downhill challenge has been mistakenly replaced in our catalogue by another title." So that's probably why your file shows it as Face-Off Ice Hockey!
Yes, there is some confusion with Downhill Challenge as Dr Bong said he was 99.9999% sure there was no EU title with that name, rather it was called Eddie Edwards Super Ski for EU and just Super Ski in France! So I would guess the SPS Database needs changing to show US not EU! |

and corrected size and crc as well, if the ipf in the zone is an official ipf that is.

SPS is looking for a reliable person taking care for the database.

Depends on what criteria they are looking for in a person, web programmer, database adminstrator, what does it involve exactly? |

He should be able to maintain the database. A bit web programming skills could be usefully for that.

So who set it up in the first place and why can't SPS themselves update it, it's theirs afterall?

Just a thought...
Since the crc for the US version is different to the SPS entry, could it be possible that the SPS entry is for Eddie Edwards Super Ski, and the one that has just been dumped, the US version? |

LOL, I just won 5 disks from Powerbox on ebay, but only Sumera/Takado was in the missing SPS list
Powerbox needs a HOL entry too as it's not mentioned, have you seen any box or manual pics for this compilation, seems very hard to find any info on it? |

Nice find, is that the whole lot though? I've only seen it listed in German magazine adverts as 'Powerbox 10 spiele', no pics though! Yours has 10 'spiele' and 2 utility disks so is that complete?
Google throws up nothing, not helped by a Polish company called Kingsoft that has one of its categories as 'Powerbox' and there's also an Amiga compilation called 'Power Box' as well! |
