Next step is to implement the stun and 3rd power up? Or other enemies?

Just needs the death sequence speeding up but I'm sure that is no problem!

The water now looks great and if the surface animation is added it will be fantastic, starting to look better than the arcade!

Also: no doubt a two button game, the finesse with the weapon when having the (especially so) fifth power up would be vital with the upwards movement!

Bug fixes and tidy up stuff will be the next week or so after a bit rest.

Then enemy to Rygar collision detection.

After 4 month of work here's a video of where the entry is at...

I am very pleased with the progress... another couple of month and it should be finished.

Thank you for everyone's support in this thread for my project, it really is helpful to me the great feedback It keeps me inspired to complete the game as i love coding and I love the Amiga.

The project is now well passed the half way mark and has all of the hard parts that I perceive completed.

Happy new Year to you too Graeme!
You might know it too, but like to know if the jumping over some kind of enemy to stun it is implemented already or is in the works

The stun code is not implemented yet but will go into the first enemy because the code is repeatable (applies to most other enemies).

Happy new year simone, glad u like the progress.

@mcgeezer @ross
I tried the last version 22nd of December on the fpgaarcade and it crashed after the first unpacking. The previous version (20th) work fine, what changes has been made to the loader who could explain the crash? Is the Ocean Loader reliable or is it just the Replay board not accurate enough?

As I have supposed it is not actually a problem in Ocean loader
FPGAArcade need a little update, but will in any case be supported in next version 'as is'.
I thanks kamelito for all the tests.

Cheers.

I'd still really like to create a card supporting YM3812 and other variants to play the music from this game and many other games.

Is anyone who is a bit more familiar with Amiga hardware than myself willing to assist? Having the proper arcade music in this game outputted from the actual chip it used would be sick, and this conversion deserves it.

Edit: Also, it has to be said, that these chips when used properly, are far more capable than Paula.

@Hewitson

I did try with several options to capture the chords and instruments from Rygar, at the beginning did use pieces of the mp3s, then tried to replicate instruments with Deflemask (with partial success), tried m1bridge and gave a look at Hoot but so far i cannot see a way to exclude audio channels (like the bass) in order to get a more clean capture. Do you have any suggestion?

The only suggestion I have is to use the actual YM chips. mcgeezer has gone all out in this port. Let's give it the music and sound it deserves.

Edit: If this card was designed well, it could be possible to incorporate the original music into WHDLoad slaves of arcade games. Imagine that!

I don't think CD audio is a good solution. Even in 1995 it sucked. These YM chips can be bought for $4 on ebay. A card to support this and other arcade conversions could be designed VERY cheaply.

To let you know where i am with this in the project.

The cd audio wont feature the arcade music, if ran on a cd32 then it is my plan to give the game options of cd music (specifically those mentioned much earlier in the thread by dan terminus).

Saimon is still creating the audio as best as he can to be ran from chip ram.
