TO be honest, i know Gear Works and i live in the UK. I didn't know they were the same game though. I don't care which name it has in the collection

Good to know about Morph too, can knock it off my checklist.

Galactic and Hyperdome, maybe i forgot to check if they were in the games folder and only checked for a HOL entry for those two. My mistake on those. 2 more ticked off.

I hope Thermonuclear War goes in, its decent. Jelly Othelly too, a nice Othello type game but different.

Looking forward to next update and see what you decided to add. Cheers.

Anyway, as i mentioned in another thread somewhere, i have compiled a list of all the games i used to own which are not in your collection. Whether these have been recommended before, whether you'll like them, i don't know. But maybe some of these will help you get to that magic "update 50"

I've grabbed a link for each to help, HOL where possible, then Lemon, then somewhere else. Some might be tricky to find (Breakin' Briks maybe), i have marked a few i think are more worthy than the others too with *, ** or *** stars.

Here goes.

I have one more request to add (for now, lol). The CD32 version of Mean Arenas. Reason is 2 fire buttons are supported and no disc swapping needed (i assume). Game is identical otherwise i think. Cheers.

Hi Aladin,

Interesting, thanks for that

This is what the Polish post translated says:

Heroes of Might and Magic 2 ported to the Amiga: link

As roman Kra?niewski
writes
on facebook: Configuration to launch the game: Minimum
requirements
AGA - 68030 - 2
MB Chip - 8 Fast Recommended Requirements AGA 68040 2 MB Chip - 16 Fast Link to download my version of the game to the Amiga;
https://files.fm/u/9jwd7x2xy#/view/tzhy6dwut
NOTE: The game fires from the file - heroes2 and not from
the file Heroes2w.exe Configuration file to launch the game was designed by Meynaf's encoder who is famous for moving games from AtariST to Amiga. But the project was abandoned years ago, I undertook the task to complete this project. The basic version allowed you to fire up the game, but the problems were with animations between campaign missions.
I tried to make an additional Polish language version and I succeeded but not entirely. that is, menus and options and any button are in Polish but all descriptions are still in English, I used a dozen versions of PL and the result is always the same, and strange because the version from CDProjekt firing on Windows is normally pl version.
I tested the game in every way to suspend it and wait for an error but i did not suffer any problems.
So I say I tweak it a little to make sure there are no problems adding animations and other features in the game. But the game works very well. I completed 3 campaign missions each time after completing the mission fires up an animation of the description of the next mission with a Polish teacher and fires the mission. In a word SUCCESS!!
Animations for weaker configurations can be set to Interlace when video function and animation will be smoother.
Indeed the small issue that sometimes occured with animations between Campaign missions is fixed

Haven't checked if already in your collection but @earok mentioned "neeso" in one of his post and found this that looks really promising (demo available) :

https://neesogames.itch.io/amiga-platformer

Seen also that IRN has also few lines about it

Noticed the following games were missing DD :
  • Amiga Karate
  • A.T.F. II aka Advanced Tactical Fighter II
  • AutoDuel
  • Balance Of Power
  • Impact! (breakout game)
  • C64 port of Boulder Dash
  • Final Assault (climbing sim)
  • Gnome Ranger
  • Beyond Zork

I realize some of these omissions might have been intentional of course (e.q. war game titles not being stuff you enjoy playing much, same with text adventures apparently).

Thanks SquawkBox, will take a look

Final Assault has been on my list for ages, but been indecisive about adding...

Gnome Ranger along with it's sequel Ingrid's Back! are already in the collection

I had unpacked one of your update packs in /Games by mistake, that's why I thought it was missing.

Not too sure Ingrid's Back is up to Gnome Ranger standards tbh. Ok then, what about Knight Orc (similarly, a bit silly to play but bears very pretty graphics) ?

Yup, will add that thanks

When I added "Gnome Ranger" I also added similar games i.e. https://hol.abime.net/hol_search.php..._publisher=492

Knight Orc wasn't listed so didn't know about this...

Only the 1st 'Crazy Cars' is not present.
Crazy Cars II is under the name of 'F40 Pursuit simulator'
Crazy Cars III is under the name of 'Lamborghini American Challenge'

Cheers malko

Yeah, I thought the first one was pretty bad, but the next two were decent.

So I decided the add the American versions above.

Edit: I should mentioned that 99.5% of the time I always use the PAL (European) versions of games, but there is that rare occasion where I use the American version, when it's not locked to NTSC timings.

For example:
... Falcon Mission Disk Volume 1: Operation Counterstrike
... Falcon Mission Disk Volume II: Operation Firefight
These have much better title screens than the PAL version, which is just the standard Falcon one on these European data disks.

We're in PAL territory so I wouldn't mind the EU releases of these games, a minor quibble. Also, I don't consider Crazy Cars II to be superior to the first opus, but that's just me; It's easy to see why some peeps could be put off by the fuzzy colors of the landscape but that makes the "crazy" vibe stronger somehow. Last, IIIrd opus is a bit more than decent, I wouldn't hesitate to call it a good racing game.

EDIT : Ah, are you implying the American versions of Crazy Cars play faster / smoother ?

Are you referring to the Falcon Data Disks?

As mentioned, the American version isn't locked to NTSC timings, and these have much better title screens than the PAL version, which is just the standard Falcon one on these European data disks.

If you're referring to the "Crazy Cars" series then I already answered... I think the first one is rubbish, didn't want to add an incomplete series so went with the American versions (of which there are only the 2nd and 3rd in the series).

No, but I do know that Lamborghini American Challenge is an updated version of Crazy Cars III and has an added 2 player mode.

No I wasn't referring to the data disks, just the Crazy Cars bit. Your collection, your decisions. I just don't consider Crazy Cars I to be rubbish, or if it's rubbish, Crazy Cars II isn't far behind in terms of "rubbishness" . A mere matter of taste I guess.

Ok, I will add... but will probably add the series then, as otherwise people will say "Where's Crazy Cars II and Crazy Cars III?"

I'll then delete "F40 Pursuit Simulator" but leave "Lamborghini American Challenge", as it's an updated version with 2 player mode added.

Maybe name them so it's clear what they are?

eg. F40 Pursuit Simulator (Crazy Cars II) or (aka Crazy Cars II)

Something like that. Obviously they're not identical games, like in the case of Lamborghini American Challenge, but it's close enough. Even HOL lists them as aliases of each other.

My two cents: more logical then to name "Crazy Cars (aka ...)" because the games were first released as "Crazy Cars" if my memory serves me well

Thanks guys, but the problem has been solved

I did what I said I would do above i.e:

Now at least I won't get the question every now and then "Why haven't you added the Crazy Cars series?"

Same thing used to happen with Katakis, as I originally added the updated American version Denaris, but eventually switched back...
