I’ve got this 7410 card, but InitPPC doesn’t get any answer from the CPU, despite of shorting pin 11 and 12 on J2 as described earlier in the thread. Ragnarok initializes in a half of a second in the same system. I did remember this version of Apocalypse has Flash ROM, what somehow conflicts usage in Sonnett system, doesn’t it?

I’m not aware wether just mine card is defective or not. Should this type of Apocalypse be principally functional?

Thanks,

and a happy and healthy new year …

I had the same behaviour, but after setting a jumper on PIN 11 and 12 it started working.

Debug output goes through serial. You can divert that to a console

Interestingly, after InitPPC the PCIInfo output changes:

VendorName: Motorola

DeviceName: Unknown
ClassCode: $60000

After InitPPC:

Is there some tutorial how to redirect to output to a console or even a file?

Still 174 in stock for 125 dollar. Could make a killing with a cheap PCI carrier card

What was the full ID of the card? 8005E 1259 something like that? And make a photo with the pins shorted.

The auction is like 1 year old, so I've offered 105 dollar for one piece and the seller agreed.

Just wanted share:

My Config:
Amiga 1200, TF1260, Mediator 1200 TX 2018, Radeon 9250 (i think), Killer K1.
OS 3.1, MMUlib, pci.library 13.9/13.10, powerpc.library 17.13b
Result:
Killer K1 initializing every time
Quake WOS w/o sound works rock stable
Frogger WOS w/o sound works rock stable
Mediator-ENVS:
PPCPCI: Yes
NoCache: Yes
MMU: Yes
RadeonMemory: 32 (it think it the right name)
RadeonMemoryOS: No (it think it the right name)

68060 at 100Mhz sometimes a PPC exception comes up, but at 50Mhz the system is really stable. On very rare occasions also at 50Mhz sometimes the PPC exceptions occurs.

Will add a PCI Sound Card and see what is gonna happen

@Hadeon: again great work!

On the Elbox site, take the test versions of either sb128 or fm501. Those operate under a high priority process instead of an interrupt. As interrupts bypass the moving of the Zorro2 PCI window (according to Elbox) resulting often (in what I have seen) the audio.device traversing a corrupt list.

Very good hint, will try then the FM801. Will give feedback ASAP.

Now maybe the Big Fella:
4000TX, BFG@100Mhz, Prometheus PCI, Voodoo3, Apocalypse
Will get a smaller brother

I gave up on supporting the A1200. Partly because the HW failed. Partly because of space issues (I need to unpack/store computers I don't use to be able to do anything in this room) Partly I stopped caring about the wedge amigas (please, where is the PiStorm32 for the big box Amigas? :-D)

I would expect a sole PCB should/could be 25Euro. But how much it will be really cost is a different question i guess.

Oh that is a pity, that the most common amiga i.e. 1200 was dropped, but understandable of course. But now at least pistorm32 for 1200 got released. Nontheless it is still a hell of fun to launch PPC software with GL support.
And as already mentioned the Big Fella is rock stable with Prometheus PCI for Zorro3 in a TX.

Hmmm I guess this would mostly make sense for a cyberstorm mk3, where a g-rex can be connected but no ppc is present.

I was referring (as were you, i thought) to the A1200.

There is no bank switching on the G-Rex thus it should work without too much trouble. And yes that is with a legacy PPC card (Blizzard in this case).

Also the G-Rex for A4000D is Unobtainium and the T version, there are like....3?

Not sure how much there are BlizzardPPC Rev. 2 users, but I guess that this will be one of the fastest solutions, since the pci bus is the fastest?
Well my Prometheus PCI over Z3 can do 7.5/MB/s from Fast Ram to Video Ram
My Mediator TX in 1200 can do 8.2/MB/s from Fast Ram to Video Ram.

I would assume that G-REX would rock 20MB?
