OK here are the new reports. GearsPPC windowed still crashes with same error.

Also Hyperion Quake2 (plus update) still won't run, shows grey screen and then black screen (no video signal).

Update, I have the exact same issue with Gears86k. It works full screen, it shows orange guru when running windowed & small. Reverting back to prometheus thread Also with the PPC card removed, same behaviour (except I didn't test the PPC gears obviously )

You should first try Q2 in 68K, or PPC in software rendering to rule out PPC and/or Warp3D.

But I strongly believe you have either a HW issue or some software acting up. Something in the S-S or U-S or maybe your 68060 library is acting up. (I recommend installing mmu libs from THOR).

I'll start over again and make sure there is nu MMUlib to start with and use the 68060 lib from Thor.

Hi, hi rebuild my A4000. I had nice working setup with Sonnet 7200. I rebuilded my A4000 into tower with new A4KD motherboard and ATX power supply and used the same Mediator, Voodoo and same system installation, but i ran into problems, my Sonnet wont work. I got this messege every time when i try to load PPC lib.

My first hunch would be to suspect the ATX PSU. Can you measure the 5V line somewhere down the board, at some distance from the power connector? Many ATX supplies I've seen are notoriously bad at delivering a stable 5 V, which is crucial for the Sonnet.

powerpc.library or ppc.library? Seeing it is a ramlib error, and the only library started by the powerpc.library is the ppc.library (from phx, if available), I was wondering.

Possible, also what ATX to A4000 cable is used, custom or the Amigakit one?

Trying to picture the setup, he's using the same A4000D motherboard and Mediator in a tower, so the PCI cards are hanging upside down?
Some pictures would be helpful.

BTW

Because my Workbench screen is in 1920x1200x16bit a have not much VRAM memory with Voodoo3 (15MB VRAM)

So, I thought, why not use second GFX, like Radeon 9250

And this is result:
[ Show youtube player ]

Pluses of this solution:
+ DIGITAL output via DVI (Radeon)
+ 3D Hardware support via Warp3D (Voodoo3)
+ Much more VRAM in system aplikations (16MB + 32MB)
+ Support on both card video OVERLAY hardware

Minuses:
- less memory on PCI Ragnarok, now is 256MB (with only Voodoo3 was 384MB)

I was trying this 2 GFX cards with my A1200 build but I was getting lots of errors even without the PPC installed

Not tried it on the A4000

Did you have any issues or did it work straight away

Of course, that I had problems :-)
I had to find out how P96 works with multiple monitors/drivers (proper ID, corect screen mode in P96 Prefs) i was the most problematic.

After all, video OVERLAY didn't work correct on Radeon- the problem was in config Radeon Driver in ENV/Mediator.
After enabling the RadeonMemOs parameter, OVERLAY started working.

Here You can see 3 monitors in action on Amiga and MACintosh.

I'm not entirely sure when you are running out of VRAM in normal usage, rather than having an extra 128MB on the PPC, please elaborate.
This is quite cool though, I thought I read somewhere that the new P96 allows multiple workbench screens with different graphics cards, or maybe that was one RTG+AGA. Though for some reason the new P96 is impacting Warp3D performance, so that might be a bit of a mixed bag. Check that out too.

Game like "Smokin' Guns" use huge size of VRAM, on some maps, when I have too little VRAM (workbench screen 1920x1200x16BIt + bitmaps/paterns on screen/windows) in some places my frame rate drops to 1 or 0 FPS.

I use old-oryginal P96 (before upgrading from Jeans).

Warp3d with Voodoo3 and "Sonnet.library" is faster with NEW P96, or slower?

Slower. I think we pinpointed rtg.library as the culprit. But I can't be bothered with bug reports anymore after being ignored by the OS4 team and the P96 team.

What if I told you that there has been a WOS Radeon W3D driver for 5 years now.

Would be nice if it was released to the general public, loads of testers here

I remember them screenshots blowing my voodoo out the water

Is that the hacked Elbox one that Elbox threatened the programmer on releasing?

I know, this is sad, but true, that is why I'm using old P96.

I'm not suprised, probably I saw a few samples (FPS in Quake), but it's sad that I can't test it, even if I want to pay for it

And this is improved by using Radeon RAM as Mediator swap space? 13MB vs 15MB on the Voodoo as P96 available VRAM?
I guess I could see it because my workbench is smaller usually, maybe 1000x600x16 or 1280x720x16.

"Smokin' Guns" is not the perfect example of good maps, even the MOS port suffers a little with a GFX/32mg VRAM. But it's ok to check out stuff. (Reminder: Gotta upgrade the crap of it).

But with a big Radeon driver.....

Post 5000 ! Did I win something ?
