This one (I know it doesn't sound like cool as some Amiga's big titles :P):

I don't know if it was the first but I remember seeing Shadow of the Beast on a display machine in Dixons and being an ST owner it blew me away.

Mainly the full screen overscan in games instead of the crappy border on many ST games and the smooth hardware scrolling then led me to get an Amiga.

shadow of the beast 2' in a shop window. It blew me away! Then the adverts on telly started showing the screen gems pack...I played beast 2 for 9 months solid...crazy kids enthusiasm...that game is a son of a bitch to play. Hardest game I have ever played.
I will never forget the music though...

Although you couldn't class it as a 2game2 I was hooked on A320 Airbus Sim. Other than that I was blown away with F18. I never could fathom out how to sink the unsinkable. I did learn somewhere how to do it but it doesn't bother me now that Amiga hardware and software was disposed of a few weeks ago. Should have kept it because I'm now going to use the Amiga Forever. Don't know if I will be able to get most of my old favourites I haven't played in 17 years.

Marble Madness and Mindwalker on a friend's A1000 in 1986.
Later I often played Defender of the Crown, Test Drive and Mouse Trap on the A1000s of other friends, and in January 1987 I finally bought my own machine, together with my brother.

My first game on the Amiga was Barbarian, but that was not really mindblowing Still remember I was really impressed by Xenon 2 and Shadow Of The Beast. My favorite game was Millennium 2.2. Played right through it, but it was great!!!

The first game I played was Xenon II on the 500. What an eye opener, at that time I had been mainly using an EGA PC, a spectrum 48k and a BBC B.

I am not sure, but it might be Elvira II. I used to play C64 version previously so it was like a visit in another universe

Hi,
Silent Service II and Defender of the Crown are the first Amiga-games I'd ever seen. It was on a friends A1000 back in 1985/1986.

It's now 27 years ago but the DD-copies still work until today.

Cheers,
Rick

I think it might have been Larry 1 being played by some teenagers at a computer store. I had a C64 back then.

My Commodore 64 was broken so I went by bus to a computer repair and sales shop.

I went into the basement of a beautiful old house and there it was, a Commodore Amiga 1000. Someone was playing Defender of the Crown.

My jaw dropped immediately, maybe there was some drooling involved, too.

"So many colors at once" "What fantastic graphics" "Brilliant sound"

So the mission was clear: get an Amiga! Have been reading in magazines before about the dream machine but seeing it for real was something else.

The guys there also played SDI by Cinemaware as I recall. I couldn't take my eyes of the Amiga for a second.

About a year later I got my Amiga 2000 and was very happy with it for years to come.

Even today this computer really amazed me, the perfect blend of WB and CLI and waht you can do with the hardware. Uses so little resources, is fast and nice to work with.

I don't think todays or future computer can have such magic. Then again, it's mostly a matter of the OS and maybe some day something like a new BeOS or alike will come into existance.

I first saw Another World or Flashback intros, and was blown away. I was a C64 coder and had never seen such graphics or heard such sound! It took me about 2 years to have an A500 myself, but in the meantime I played with Amigas of my friends, the first I played was Lotus Spirit Turbo Challenge 2 with that nice music. It still bewitches me! The first I played with my own machine was Shadow of the Beast III. Damn goods days back then!

First amiga game I saw was Space Harrier in a shop window. I was amazed with all the action, color and speed. Later when I finally played the game I was kind of disappointed because it was so difficult.

The first games I played were the ones that came with my A500:
- Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade - the platformer one... Not the best platform game I ever played but it was ok.
- Kick Off - the first one. Hard game to play. I would master its sequel later on.
- F/A 18 Interceptor - awesome flight simulator and one of the few games I played of this genre.

The Last game I bought was Mindscapes Knightmare

Shadow Of The Beast.

I am 36 now, and this was in 1989, so I would have been 10 years old.

Blew my mind. It was in a small, grubby computer shop in Watford, UK, which I went to with my Dad. He had a C64, but wanted to upgrade, and was toying between the Amiga and the ST. Glad he made the right choice!

The parallax scrolling on Shadow Of The Beast did something very weird to my young mind. It was like I was witnessing real actual magic in front of my eyes. Impossible to put into words what it felt like, but I liken it to the first time seeing Michael Jackson moonwalking. Was other-worldly.

Then the shop assistant loaded up Xenon 2...

Defender of the Crown and Sinbad and the Throne of the Falcon (my friend had an A1000).

The graphics on Defender were better than anything I'd ever seen before in or out of an arcade and whilst Sinbad was a little crappy-looking in comparison the music was incredible. Then my friend showed me DPaint and I was sold
