Don't suppose anyone knows if the WinueX configurations server is still alive? I just hung when I selected the configuration.
Is downloading them possible? Or an alternative server? Thanks. |

Hmmm,
I managed to to format and lock my drive easily without a hitch. When I put the drive in it reverted back to the standard MS dash but the 007 gamesave was still there. Had to uninstall then reinstall the softmod. Unleashx then booted. Made XBMC the dash and thought all was well, until I exited out of a film and had a black screen. Strangely pressing the controller button still brought up the shitdown screen and I could hear the clicks as I moved the controller around. I'm thinking maybe a clean restore is best. Winuaex is actully hard crashing my Xbox. damnit EDIT: Winuaex V16 |

This isn't a PC!! You dont get crap left around in registries or anything. Launch UnleashX (assuming you kept it) from XBMC from the Programs menu. FTP in, upload a new XBMC directory, delete the old XBMC directory, rename and reboot. (You need to run UnleashX because you cannot FTP over XBMC when running XBMC) It crashes from time to time, especially if not setup correctly. Or perhaps you have dodgy case fan or GPU fan (MK 1.0/1.1 only) and it is overheating? |

Mice and keyboards can be used with an USB adapter.
If you want to use a joystick you'll have to modify an XBOX controller with a 9pin dsub connector. http://www.xboxscene.com/articles/amiga-connector.php I highly recommend it |

I really might give that a go one day..
Although my X-Arcade does a great job, would be nice to use a zipstick/comp pro |

All done!
Got my USB adapter today as well, but at least I can now use a mouse. I installed the latest t3ch stable as Alex said for XBMC. If you update the plugins updater it gives you BBCi player and Youtube as a plugin rather than a script. (They seem to be SVN though). Installed an Amiga HDF to the massive extra partition I now have and all's good. Anything else worth installing? Again thanks for your help Alex, it is easier than it first seems. EDIT:Tried a few USB sticks, none worked. Is it still specific as I thought Linux was ok with most of them. |

XBMC for xbox is an application for the XBOX OS (which boots from flash). A cut down version of the Win32 Kernel complete with directX type libraries. XBMC for linux is an application for linux. Basically a re-write of all the XBOX specific stuff to Linux equivalents. Still not an OS. XBMC for XBOX is supposed to have USB1.1 MSC (Mass Storage Class) support http://www.xbmc.org/wiki/index.php?t...upport_in_XBMC It cannot read NTFS formatted USB sticks... could that be it?? Just having a look around for anything else to install. I may attempt the DVD drive replacement at some point. EDIT: USB 1.1 is probably why my memory sticks aren't working then. |

Either all of them are incompatible (see lists on link above) or they were formatted NTFS, or larger than 4Gb? Quote:
Are you having trouble reading some discs? |

Yes, ocassionally it won't read some.
I used the tool as well that fills up ISO's. CD-R's are basically a no go so I only use DVD-R now which has been more successful. The drive also doesn't eject or load without a tap or push. That being said, it's true what you say. I only will probably use the drive for DVD's as I find using FTP perfect. The HDD was a 40gig drive which is probably more than enough as F: is 30gig alone. I wasn't aware you could stream ISO's from a network? That's really good/useful if you can. I guess I'm just unlucky with my flash drives, they were formatted as FAT and don't seem to be on the list. |

just got winuaex up and running last night, after a couple of weeks waiting on someone on ebay to post splinter cell
must say i'm amazed how good these games look on my tv i set the flicker filter to 5, bilinear hardware & 2xsai scanline software, looks gorgeous to me now then, i noticed in the doc on xports site that you can "assign any mouse/joystick to either L/R analog stick", i cant see any option for doing that though? i'd like to use the left thumbstick as the joystick rather than the dpad. |

Most XPORT emulators have an option to enable analog support somewhere. Then DPAD and LEFT ANALOG work as joystick at the same time |
