@jbenam I’m starting to suspect there might be something wrong with your mediator logic boards. I seem to recall wrangler had similar problems to you with one of his mediators back when we were using sonnets. Everything would work other than the ppc card. He sent the logic board to me and the symptoms were reproducible. It took a trip to elbox for reflash/rework to fix. This was with a modern 3.3v mediator for 4000D

Did you test from a normal Shell/CON/KingCON instead of ViNCED?
Yeah, it seems it was ViNCED's fault.

I've finally got a full log of what is happening. I hope this can finally give a clear view into what is going wrong.

It's attached to this post since it exceeds the maximum number of characters I can use.

@trixter

I hope that is not the case here - Elbox has stopped responding to my emails asking for a fix long ago... I suppose they want me to purchase a new one.

In what way?

By the way, the output is still lacking the code which is responsible for the muForce hits. I need an output something like Grim Reaper on OS4.

I don't know if the errors of GuardianAngels are any good as it also complains about its patches being overwritten.

MuForce + MuGuardianAngel freeze only if I use ViNCED. It works fine with CON: and thus KingCON. Not sure why.

Errrr, does someone know how can I get something similar on OS3.x? I'm pretty new when it comes to debugging on the Amiga.

Look at the documentation of muForce. It uses the disassembler.library for that purpose. And show the ouput without guardianangel first.

It’s a shame really looks like it could work with some tweaking by a very clever person

Here are some screenshots, and sorry if I got peoples hopes up.

Have you tried different/lower resolution?

Yeah it’s the same, so as Hedeon said before Voodoo Banshee cards are not Warp3D compatible sadly

I only tested it with gears demo has I was more focused on my A4k PPC builds

I need to install Warp3D first to check it, but I expect it not to work correctly. I havent even installed it because I remember from the early Mediator times that only V3 was said to be Warp3D compatible..

Generally speaking, logs aren't going to tell you when you have a power issues of some kind especially if it is power/noise related. Usually that can be mitigated to an extent by adding/moving cards around.

I have had similar sets of failures when I had:
-Dirty Sluts
-Leaky Capacitors
-Cards in an order that the system didn't like

Things I did to make it initialize and work:
+Cleaning connectors/slots
+Recapping
+Moving cards around, and adding them in an a configuration that I knew I was going to end up with anyway like:
++Adding SB128
++Adding NIC

Playing with DTACK as per the Unreliable Mediator Guide, he had a busted Mediator bridge of some kind and could not explain why DTACK made the error requesters go away, that was the system Wrangler eventually got and sent the Mediator Bridge back to Elbox.

Same artefacts as Timtheloon reported for BlitzQuake & Banshee here as well.

I have installed disassembler.library, not sure if it's using it correctly. Will read more MuForce docs later.

Some more stuff I have tried in the meanwhile:

3.1.4 roms (with 3.9)
040-to-060 adapter (in right now)
LC060, Full 060
LAN card in bottom slot
Cleaned all slots, removed all CPLDs from slots, cleaned those too

Nothing changed.

I am going to recap the A3640 again in the next few days (and since I am at it too, upgrade it to 3.2 and add the various mods I can do to speed it up).

Did anyone get ShogoMAD working?

It just hangs here, with powerpc.library 17.13 whether software or hardware render.

I've been playing with the ENV vars but nothing seems to change it. One annoying aspect is the CDROM copy protection check, I'm mounting the ISO with diskimage.device even though I have *everything* installed on the HDD.

I have everything else working on my G4/128 (except Q3 due to memory req)...this is the last one.

EDIT: I downloaded the demo and same problem, so unrelated to CDROM access.

Do you recall what version rtg.library works? 40.4029 ?

I've tried 3 different versions :-/

If I look at some old installs I have 40.4030 installed (and 40.3994).

I have four versions but no 40.4030, they are all from Picasso 2.1x...no joy.

Nevermind, I answer my own question on releases....it'd be nice to be able to try an old sonnet powerpc.library version

I just have ShogoMAD: assigned to a folder where the CD contents are. Where is it freezing?
It was running, but timing is just a little bit off like the audio and animations are slightly too fast.

I've tried the assign and it always insist the CD be inserted, despite that the contents are installed on the HDD :-/

It freezes on the title screen.

I have tried disabling sound, music and animations and setting sound to regular DMA or AHI/Paula 8-bit DMA.

The freeze behavior is exactly the same on the Aminet Demo with or without the Updated Launcher.
