Or use an A500 PS2 adapter -

http://www.ebay.com/itm/131221775920...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

And mount a new keyboard in the A500 ;-)

Or trying fixing it yourself, this is a good read:

Or using a conductive pen.....

@Marcuz
I'm not sure your question was really answered About why the A500 PSU is alot heavier than an A1200....(Although I dont believe you have an original A500 PSU)

I know exactly the MAIN reason besides the Transformer being heavy.....If you purposely drop your A500 PSU that you have and crack it and then open it up... you will notice it is filled completely with some Plastic-eee / clay type substance..... I think they did this to either make it unrepairable....or perhaps Waterproof.

if you open your A1200 power supply you will notice no such thing and that you can access the chips and maybe repair it.

The A500 one ....if similar to the CD32 one and Commodore 64 one, was filled with plastic goop....but I think you actually DONT have an original A500 PSU, because the A500 PSU's were unscrewable and big but light..though maybe a tiny bit heavier than an A1200 PSU...but also more powerful.
You probably have a Modified C=64 PSU or a Modified CD32 PSU for you A500?

But what about the Apple Macintosh? It was released the same time as the Amiga but it had much superior graphics and sound.

Only of the week?

Nooo... it wasn't even off topic.
It was at least a question someone should be embarrassed to ask.

Really? That's comparing apples and oranges (or Apples and Amigas, as the case may be). They are similar but quite different platforms with different features. Amiga was initially designed as a gaming platform before being turned into a home computer. The Mac was never designed to be a gaming system. Those differences drastically effected the design and operation of the hardware.

As to which would be the better platform, only the end-user and their intentions could really say which system is better suited for the task. I think it's obvious that the Amiga would win if any sort of gaming was desired, though.
