I'm going through a mixture of games at the moment, but mostly the Yakuza games on the PS4 and the Far Cry games on the PC (catching up). I also enjoy firing up some retro games on my little RG350M and also EmuELEC.

I couldn't do much else but hang at my computer, all of a sudden it became winter in a bad way :/ Snow, freezing temperatures and lots of wind. I haven't seen that in years, the wind actually created some snow dunes in my back yard.
So yeah, back to the comfy golden oldies of Factorio and a little Civ6. I also played a little Robocod and that got me interested in watching videos of other versions of it. It surprised me that there is a PS1 version. The levels look boring but the music is interesting, it actually has James Pond Underwater Agent and Christmas tunes mixed in. The James Pond tunes don't tonally fit the game but it was cute to hear them anyway. |

Yeah I feel that. I might boot up some lesser known shoot em ups, like Ilyad, Zone Warrior and Pegasus. I don't think I ever booted those up since the 90's.

I love the aesthetics of James Pond, but jebus the basic gameplay loop is to collect X of Y and bring them back to the start pipe, usually one by one. That's hard to play for more than half an hour. Thank god for WinUAE and save states.

Streets of Rage 4... at first I thought some of the bosses were military grade BS, but then I stopped using Axel and from that moment on the game turned into a combo-spewing powerhouse. Extremely satisfying to beat the tar out of these cartoon characters with increasingly more flashy and devastating blows

My favorite so far is Cherry. She's lightweight and thus doesn't have good throws but the fact that she can do a lot of moves airborne... love it.
Also I've been diving into My Time at Portia. It's a nice relaxing crafting game with some Stardew Valley influences and a hint of Zelda here and there. I wouldn't call it a game-game, it's more of an unwinding tool. Days are not too long and not too short so you can always squeeze a little romp in there if you're busy. |

Time Pilot (Arcade/MAME, Konami, 1982)
It looks like I forgot everything about mastering this game. 80k points was the best I could do in two runs. ![]() |
