Those cables are very expensive here as well. Isn't there a way to resolder a much cheaper Wii component cable?

btw: Is that an SD2IEC on the back of your C64C? I haven't seen that body housing before.

Hi, from what i have read about the gamecube component cables is that there slightly different to the wii cable and actually contain a special microchip in the cables plug.

And that's why there haven't been any 3rd party cables released or any mods that work.

There is lots of info about the various gamecube cables here if your interested-
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ninte...nt_video_cable

It also sucks because on my crt tv it has S-Video inputs on it, but apparently the pal cubes aren't capable of outputting s-video, the ntsc cube can output s-video though.

And for pal cubes i think the next best thing to component is to use a cube scart cable, but it's rare to find a tv in Australia that has scart, svideo is more common here.

And yes that is a SD2IEC on my C64 in the form of the C64SD v2.0 Infinity.
This is it here-

Mine is from here http://sd2iec.co.uk/id4.html
I own of those in C64 breadbin (in my case C128) beige.

I didn't know (RGB-) Scart was uncommon in australia. The companies built special PAL versions of their TVs for the comparatively small australian market?
You couldn't buy a TV here (and I guess in the rest of PAL Europe as well) without such a connector since the mid/late 80s.

My rig needed an upgrade so I got this:
Intel i7-4790 Devil's Canyon
ASUS Z97-A mobo
2x8 GB Kingston HyperX RAM

The emulators my aging Core2Quad Q6600 struggled with flies on this baby.

Higan 0.94 accuracy x64 plays SuperFX games fullspeed with no slowdowns whatsoever and so does PCSX2.

Nice one. I thought about doing a similar upgrade, although my i7-950 is not quite as ancient as the Q6600..

I'm surprised they still put PCI slots on new motherboards, but I need it so I can keep using my Sound Blaster X-Fi with 5 1/4" front.

Hehe I think my Linux "learning" machine takes the price as ancient.

Socket 754 Athlon64 3400+ @2.4Ghz on ASUS K8N-E Deluxe with 3x512MB PC3200 and a Geforce 6800GT 256MB AGP.
It was a nice PC 12-13 years ago though.

FS-UAE 2.5.5 runs pretty good on it though in Mint 17.

Duff Mouse

Just opened the box of that Mouse I recently got :

It stinks = Musty
It is Dirty = Don't people wipe things down B4 Selling ?

and worst of all :
It does not work !
There appears to be a Short where the Wire enters the Body.
As it gets very warm and flexing it causes random mouse actions.

Reported...

##EDIT##
Refunded.
I have put that towards one of those 4.3 in LCD Screens

= 5 Euro (Free P&P)

= £4 + £8 P&P = £12

and on its way:

= £9.58 (Free P&P)
Think the Amiga will be able to power it ?
Or will I need my 2 Amp external ?

I just bought a 3x pack of star wars games for my gamecube for AU$45 in awesome condition, The games are- STAR WARS The Clone Wars +Bounty Hunter +Jedi Knight II Outcast!

They will go nicely with my other 2x rogue squadron games i currently have

As far as i know i now own all 5 star wars games for the gamecube excluding the lego games in which i don't care about.

Edit- Lol i am currently going through a retro star wars phase as you can probably tell:]

Well, while I don't have any hard numbers, it's definitely a lot faster than the Raspberry Pi Model B it replaced. Video without stuttering, movie scraper went a lot quicker, interface is nice, smooth and responsive.
