Hello DamienD,
I remember that you're HD was wiped out. Are you missing ___Title.png and ___SShot.png files from your collection? I can upload them to FTP if you need. Just DM me. Kind Regards, Quote:

Damien, I may have a lot of the box art as you know I'm working on my launchbox/bigbox pack for the Amiga, progress slowed dramatically due to major hard drive issues and config file corruptions. I do have a load of images of box art and a lot of disk art (not all official as I have created a few - some are temp placeholders), so if I can help at all I will.

I've now completed "# - E"; that's 976 games so roughly a third through... If you want to see what they look like, just extract this archive into "WinUAE" |

I know your pain! I have nearly 3700 box art images in my collection. All had to be resized, colour reduced and converted to IFF to be compatible with original hardware. Took a fair few weeks.

Somehow I think that for those situations, there is automation available. Or is it that no developer has had to do such things so such feature does not exist

I wrote my own program that does it now. I just drag and drop the image and my program does the rest. I also use another program called NConvert that does all the hard work when making my image collection.

Not to mention the whole GameBase Amiga cover scans collection that's on the FTP (and also where a lot of these other collections got their images from in the first place).

I imagine your Boxart is taken from HOL; which will be better then the ones I already have? |

I mean... wow. Only just experienced the collection and what a great achievement it is. Thank you Damien for your massive dedication and detailed instructions. It just works, and we can configure it any way we like. I've even learned a bit more about WinUAE, which always confused me a bit admittedly (my fault).
I'll just post about trying to get the smoothest possible experience (scrolling-wise) on my lowly old desktop. I tried playing with the Lagless settings but couldn't make them work properly. So, on my 144Hz FreeSync monitor, I got near-perfect results by just: 1. Using Damien's untouched WinUAE configurations 2. Enabling FreeSync (on monitor) 3. Enabling G-Sync Compatible for full-screen mode (Nvidia driver) 4. Using 144Hz mode (not 100Hz, as I erroneously believed would be best) |

There's certainly many on Mobygames that aren't in the GB Amiga collection, I think all the ones on moby were visibly watermarked at the time. The ones in GB Amiga weren't taken directly from HOL, a lot were from Exotica, many are my own, also people like Cody and Idoru contributed to it as well.
@DD I've got no problem with you using anything from the collection. I've always said people are free to use them as they wish, I don't own the scans and they are meant to be used by the community, it does upset me a bit though when people forget where most of them came from in the first place. |

...well at least for now. So I used the images from hitm4n's URL and Gamebase Amiga. The batch file took about 7 hours to build; much better than me each file manually moving into the required directories and then renaming, which would have taken over 24 hours Once I ran this I then went through all "Boxart" images via WinUAE to check them. Anything that didn't look great I then adjusted in Photoshop i.e. AutoTone, AutoContrast, AutoColor, or playing with Levels. Download this archive and just extract into "C:\WinUAE" I've very happy with the results ...there's still loads and loads of missing content; so that's the next major task Last edited by DamienD; 13 April 2021 at 02:20. |
