I hope CyberPunks will be good - I have a long development road to walk with it first.
It will be a little darker than the first and the bobblehead baby face players are gone for good. |

Has anybody solved the HD Problem with WIZ? I bought WIZ two weeks ago and i can not play it on my real Amigas. I only have the USB Stick with the ADFs, so i can use only WINUAE for it what is really annoying if you got 2 meters away the real thing... it would be great if i could copy it to my CF and play it in my CD32 or A4000. I'm sure i'm not alone with this problem...
@Adrian thanks for keeping amiga with new software alive <3 |

I copied the ADFs over to my A1200 and wrote them to floppy disks, which will do until a WHDload installer has been made.

For those who want to 'practice cheat' and not use the built in 'level test' cheat there is always this that I totally forgot about TBH...

Firstly thank you I try my very best but sometimes it is sadly not enough. All I can add is that it is installed on my personal stock A1200 (020) with CF Card as HD and even loads from Workbench fine (as do all my other games). I can only imagine that some people are having trouble running the game from their HD's because the low level disk system (RNC dosio) hates either their IDE HD or CF Card hardware or FileSystem on it or even possibly a mix of both? I just don't know and probably never will given there are so many variants of Amiga hardware out there now. The reason I use RNC dosio is because the game is low level and takes over the entire machine. Years ago this was a cool thing to do when writing a game of course, but now 25+ years on everybody has various Franken'Amiga's with many hardware variants. This is why I only code for stock A1200 now and basic 2Mb Chip RAM. I only write games though not disk sub systems in asm. I'm an not clever enougth to be able to do that you understand. Least my game code works on those damn new fangled Vampires too tho so not all bad eh? We supply the games as ADF's because the Physical game boxes we use actually hold 2 floppy disks. We even put the glossy labels in the box so you can now make your own disks from the USB ADF files. That is aimed at collectors mainly. Giving the option to install to HD is an optional bonus but we also state that it may or may not work in the docs. We give those docs away with the FREE demo also so we're trying to be as upfront as possible with everything for everyone. As it stands here after extensive testing of Wiz using RNC dosio... --- Real Amiga A1200 (020): Floppy = Good HD Install = Good for many but NOT all drive types encountered. CF Install = Good for many but NOT all drive types encountered. Emulated 'WinUAE' Amiga A1200 (020): ADF's (use floppy turbo mode for near HD speed) = Good HD Install = Fail (not currently working) Real CD32 (020): CD32 .ISO = Good when CD launched from cold boot. Emulated 'WinUAE' CD32 (020): CD32 .ISO = Good when launched form CD32 Quickstart tab. Frame rate drops: 030 upwards to 060 = Good but some frame drops due to 'blitter waits' as expected. Worst reported cases so far were machines with 040 acceleration. --- I hope that helps some anyway, but some of this is impossible for me to fix or further fault find because RNC dosio is a closed lump of code. I can only suggest that those who are not wanting to play from floppy that have HD install issue perhaps await the WHDLoad'ed version of Wiz. I have no idea when that will be as it's nothing to do with me of course. Wiz is NOT a system friendly game. It will take over your system, relocate itself, trash the Amiga OS and eat all your 2Mb chipmem for breakfast using a custom disk loader (not written by me) Almost all my previous games and probably 100's of others in the past will do exactly the same. The poor blitter in the Amiga is near useless when coding a 50fps AGA game. CyberPunks 2 AGA will use the same disk system and boot code so you might as well grit your teeth now LOL AMIGAAAAA! Please check out Wiz´walking animation, too. There is a flickering hand in the middle of his beard. I guess it´s an anim frame that shouldn´t be there and it kinda ruins the otherwise brilliant art and animation. Thanks. |

The guy who sent me a PM about game ideas or something? - sorry I fat fingered it and deleted it by mistake. Thanks for asking tho but I only work on my own stuff these days when I can be arsed anyway. Cheers, Adrian. Last edited by AmigaDweeb; 26 November 2020 at 10:22. |

I put it on dh0:Wiz, partition is within the 4GB border, but filesystem is the Smartfilesystem. May I can do the same test under FFS filesystem. From disk it is running fine. I can wait for the WHDLoad installer. |

If someone is using the standard FastFileSystem, setting a softlink could also work. Sadly not supported by SmartFileSystem. |
