Thanks a lot AmigaSystem for trying it out and the video! It helps a lot

For the larger size, I can't reproduce the behaviour here, I think that it is due to MUI and how it is configured: could you check the MUI preferences, under the Window "group", there are settings for spacing (on the left-hand side).

For the preferences not being saved, I'm puzzled... Could you run SnoopDOS and see if the file ENVARC:AmiModRadio is being accessed/written? That's really the only thing that could fail while saving preferences...

Take care!

PS. Could you share some/all of your very cool skins for AmiModRadio to include them in the next release?

PPS. Do you have a list of all your systems?

No I solved, maybe my translation was not clear, these problems were caused by "AmiModRadio.catalog", deleted this file everything works perfectly.

Hi AmigaSystem!

Excellent! Thanks

And thanks for the skins

Amazing list of OSes!!!

For AmiModRadio, the only problem remaining is the offline/online behaviour, yes?

Best!

With v0.9995 "everything" works perfectly also on-Line

I forgot, attach Icons Dual-PNG (Program Drawer) 46x46 for OS 3.x RTG

@tygre I put together a nicer app drawer icon for 4.1 users that combines the Mason drawer with the AmiModRadio radio set that you might like to include.
Attached Files
File Type: lha AmiModRadio-drawer.lha (8.6 KB, 99 views)

Hi AmigaSystem and ColdAcid and thank you!

I will include your nice icons in the coming release as well as a ReadMe file thanking you all for your contributions!

Actually, I have many people to thank
In no particular order:
  • AmigaSystem for image sets and icons
  • AmiKit (Jan) for including AmiModRadio in his great Amikit
  • Aminet for access to mods/
  • coldacid for icons
  • Debaser for his donation (my first and only )
  • FireHawk for access to mod.haxor.fi
  • Matt for his help and advice with the coding
  • Maw2k for the German translation
  • The Mod Archive Forums Team for access to ModArchive
  • RetroFan for image sets
  • Samo79 for the Italian translation
  • TUMO with the compiling/debugging

And many others for their suggestions, bug reports, and support in general!

PS. PM me if I forgot to thank you, it's just an honest mistake that I'll be happy to correct!

Cheers!

Their are 20721 mods on Aminet. Anyone know how many are on tracker.modarchive.org as their main archive without updates weighs in at a hefty 29.03 gig

Indeed, and AmiModRadio supports ModArchive so it gives you access to these thousands... millions? of modules

@DamienD Thank you!

I should release a new version of AmiModRadio soon, tested on several configurations by AmigaSystem and myself (including A4000/30, A1200/60, and A600/Vampire).

Cheers!

In the future it could be interesting an AmiMp3Radio version for listening to AMiGA MP3s from site like "amigaremix.com" the players could be TKPlayer, FFplay, AmigaAMP,Amplifer.

Great idea!

Right now, AmiModRadio would work with MP3 files if you ran AmigaAMP as the player and point AmiModRadio to some source/drawer that contains MP3, for example those here. (Try by typing /mods/kicko in AmiModRadio top text box. Then, you can select the button next to this text box to make this drawer the new source.)

But warning: the performance of my FTP/HTTP code is pretty bad so it may take time to download large MP3 files
(And make sure that you deslected the very last option in the preferences: "Skip modules which sizes are above...".)

Enjoy!

Ok I was able to play Mp3 only HiP Player is not suitable for MP3, better TKPlayer is the lightest and fastest MP3 Player, FFPlay instead supports many other formats, also DAPlayer is an excellent Mp3 Player.

Okay, cool I will add support for all these players (that I didn't know!) In the meantime, you could use AmigaAMP, it should work well too?

Best!

So I tried these new players that I didn't know and here are some observations:
  • DAPlayer looks great and has an ARexx interface but it doesn't allow loading a new module/MP3 file, only triggering the requester. Also, it doesn't allow querying whether the song is over or not.
  • FFPlay is impressive and seems to have an ARexx interface but I couldn't find anywhere the list of supported commands: any pointers to its ARexx documentation?
  • TKPlayer is amazingly light and can "stream" MP3, it's great for me who have all my modules and MP3 on a shared disk. But no ARexx port and no way to know when a song is over.

I wonder if DAPlayer is still under development?
And what about the list of ARexx commands of FFPlay?

Cheers!

HippoPlayer and SongPlayer both support MP3 (mpega.library) and have an ARexx port (both with song duration and current position). The other players mentioned I haven't installed but isn't one of the players by Thomas you could ask for ARexx support?

It works well with AmigaAMP only that you also start the AmigaAMP GUI.

Test Audio Player DAPlayer_MUI, FFPlay e TKPlayer
