*sigh* I guess I'll grab ClassicWB and try to get it running then. Might take a while though. Still hoping that somebody could help out

This is what I suggested. The 'derailment' may be highly relevant to supporting the Amiga platform (as opposed to 'whatever runs game X'). Post history seems revised now, so I guess it's OK and we can talk about how to run a game the authors never bothered to grace the platform with. They were single-focused on making the PC run a single game decently at all at the time. And after all, that pursuit was admirable.

I see in Clickboom quake that it is possible to change audio quality.
I still do not like Clickboom quake cause of the controlls. My question is if it would be possible to add the audio quality settings to this version. I use Pistorm32 so the speed is not a problem. I could set audio quality to best possible with almost no loss in fps. Anyway, great job with Amiquake! |

The game will run faster with AGA. I overclocked Pi3 and achieved 23.5 fps in 320x256, PAL, AGA, fullscreen. God knows with Pi4
##Enable the options below to increase speed of RPi3 ARM cpu to 1.5GHz force_turbo=1 over_voltage=4 arm_freq=1500 core_freq=400 sdram_freq=600 Edit: I now tried the Timedemo for the 2nd time without overclock and I got 23fps. This means that the timedemo is not constant. As already mentioned we are probably near the end of what is possible. We will see when Pi4 is tested with this game. Do the mipscale and mipcap commands work in the Ami version? Back in the day I played Quakeworld at top level and all we cared about was FPS so would quite happily suffer degraded visuals. You can pretty much turn the textures off. Curious if this works here and what sort of fps you can get, try the following in the ingame console
d_mipcap 3 d_mipscale 20 ---------- Syntax: d_mipcap <value> Default: 0 Sets the detail level. Values range from 0-3 with 0 giving the highest detail. d_mipscale (V) Syntax: d_mipscale <value> Default: 1 Sets how much detail distant objects have. Values range from 0-40 with 0 not bluring distant objects at all. (Uses lots of ram if set to 0) Last edited by str0m; 06 March 2023 at 12:38. Reason: edit |

With Pi4 in Pistorm32 and AGA we destroy what we though was possible. This is running AmiQuake
With RTG it is way over 100 FPS. |
