Not off the top of my head. What type of joystick / joypad are you using? Other games are fine though?

In the office at work currently; like every Wednesday...

Will look / check tonight once home.

  • Create a "Windows 7 SP1 64-bit" bootable USB stick, boot with, try various methods to repair the MBR but failed so some reason, try running a Repair but also failed.
  • Wipe the laptop back to Acer's default image.
  • Uninstall all the rubbish they put on.
  • Download / install the latest device drivers.
  • Reinstall all applications i.e: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Reader, Audacity, CDex, Chrome, CloneCD, Daemon Tools, Edge, Filezilla, ImgBurn, Jasc PaintShop Pro, MS Office 2016, Notepad++, Quick Batch File Compiler, Symantec Endpoint Protection, TOR, UltraEdit, VLC, WinRAR, XBox Controllers and XnViewMP.
  • Clean up all temp files / folders and run a Defrag.
  • Make an image of the C: drive partition --> external USB hard drive.
  • Test by reimaging afterwards, takes 15 minutes.
  • Copy all data back to the C: and D: drives.
The laptop is now like brand new and purring like a kitten... and it ever breaks again, it's just a matter off moving data off and re-imaging

Just an Xbox 360 USB Pad - works fine on everything else just the latest SWoS has issues that I've found so far.

I highly recommend Veeam for personal backup (it's free) - it may be a little overkill but it's really cool (and can make a nice VM out of the files too!)

Glad it's sorted though!

If you're going all-out with Quake mission packs, you should probably add Dimension Of The Past which was released to commemorate the 20th anniversary. It's not an id product but considered semi-official because it was created by MachineGames (developer of Wolfenstein: The New Order and Wolfenstein: The Old Blood).

One thing to note with any SWOS release after Sensible World of Soccer '96/'97.

These ae not official but hacks / modifications by these guys: https://www.sensiblesoccer.de/

People have mentioned issues with the WHDLoad versions on EAB etc...

Personally I use the native .HDFs, but who's to say that there aren't issues there also.

To be honest, I don't thoroughly test these games as am not much of a "Sensible Soccer" / "Sensible World of Soccer" fan...

Yeah I know they're not truly supported - they have the updated teams in there but just wanted to check if it was just me or if there is an issue in general with it

Part of the original Quake

When you start the game and you pick your difficulty portal, you're taken into that room where you can pick one of 4 episodes.

Really?

As far as I know there are these:
... Mission Pack 1: Scourge of Armagon
... Mission Pack 2: Dissolution of Eternity
... Mission Pack 3: Abyss of Pandemonium - The Final Mission
And you've linked to:
... Episode 5: Dimension of the Past
Ah, you saying an "Episode" instead of a "Mission Pack"

A mission pack contains episodes. Episodes contain levels.
ie. Mission Pack -> Episode -> Levels.

When you run stock Quake, you get 4 episodes:

- Episode 1: Dimension of the Doomed
- Episode 2: The Realm of Black Magic
- Episode 3: The Netherworld
- Episode 4: The Elder World

And one final level, but not really an episode.

This episode 5 is a spiritual successor to those original episodes.

In terms of mission packs, the only official ones are "Scourge of Armagon" and "Dissolution of Eternity". Anything else is unofficial even if they were released commercially/freeware/etc.

Yeah I get that now; was at work, busy and mixed up "Episode" with "Mission Pack"

So, please do the following:
  • Delete the configuration file "C:\WinUAE\Configurations\Quake & Mission Packs [AmigaCD].uae".
  • Delete the <gamedir> "C:\WinUAE\Games\Quake AmigaCD".
  • Download / extract this archive into "C:\WinUAE".

Meh, I forgot to put the finishing touch to the .HDF...

Basically, it annoys me that the mouse pointer is visible during the game.

So like what I did with another .HDF in my collection; I've used "MouseBlanker" to make the pointer disappear after 1 second without movement

Here's an updated archive
