Is there a TCP stack I can use on an A500 using the 68000 processor? I plan to build a PLIPbox but there isn't a decent TCP stack that doesn't require a minimum '020 to use... :/

The AmiTCP installed with OS3.9 (Genesis) also has a 68000 executable as far as I can tell.

Habe a look in your Amiga OS 3.x ARexx book. It explains it really good. Main advantages IMHO are: Easy to learn. Most Programms have an ARexx port where you can communicate to. For the average user it is really powerfull.

@onkelarie
I still have somewhere the AREXX book with 3.0 but i remember was a very aseptic book at first glance. AREXX is the most important piece of Amiga OS and NG oses: sometime i think it deserves more attention and more users: did anyone thought to do video podcasts about it? |

The 68020 is a multiprocessor capable cpu. So why is it that when you add a cpu card to a 1200 the cpu on the motherboard cannot also be used?

@Vot
I would actually define it the usual reference manual for initiated technicians, nothing however that could push someone less knowledgeable to look at it with curious eye... |

I'm just guessing here but maybe because the A1200 was not designed for multi-processor use? The hardware is one thing, but the OS must also be aware or the second processor will never be used.

I would guess that as well, but it would be fascinating to know what would be necessary in hardware and software for the Amiga to use two or more 68020s.

In hypothetical case. very very hypothetical.
If you could hire a great team of programmers to current XBOX, PS3 etc and paying their salaries and big-budget. Could make a great 3D game using only AGA 060 in double layer DVD? An Assasin Creed AGA? for example. Seeing TBL demos and other, umm .. |
