Yes, Radeon support may come with Picasso 96 2.5 (or 3.0). As far as I know it's in final beta testing.

You won’t get Warp3d though

Ratte posted an unauthorized port of the Radeon for OpenPCI ages ago. No Warp3D though.

PMC to PCI adapters with bridge chips don't work - at least on a Mediator - so you need a "simple" one.

Technobox 1447 worked with a Rapture. Might have tried that on a Ragnarok as well, don't remember exactly. 5V only, so I added a 3.3V VRM as I didn't have a 3.3V supported Mediator at the time. Cooling might be a concern.
Technobox 4930 basically worked with an Apocalypse. 5V only and I didn't bother to add a VRM, so you have to use a Black Mediator with 3.3V support, or mod in some other way. Cooling might be a concern as well.

Yes, I could contact to him.
So write (PV) if you want contact to him, or have message/asking.

Does this mean that 3.3V is needed for a card like Ragnarok?

All of the PMC cards, the KillerNIC and Sonnet require 3.3V from the Mediator or need modification. The PMC239/F does onboard 5V->3.3V conversion.

Using a carrier without onboard 5V->3.3V conversion means you’re relying on the V3 mediator’s VRM, and there are questions as to whether that mightn’t provide enough power for some pmc cards to run stably. When the Ramix was a $50 part this wasn’t a consideration, but now it’s gone $$$ it means there are less options sadly.

I did not know this does it do this automatically or is there a jumper configuration involved?

I also have one of these PCI PMC carriers but not sure about the jumper configuration for the pmc carrier and don’t just want to plug it in blindly, I believe this one will need the 3.3v supply too

That's the Technobox 4930, above comments apply.

I thought the Technobox 4930 would be a nice one in terms of power stability, as one can elegantly infuse power per molex cable additionally. Am I right?

Thanks grelbfarlk found your comment.

With regards to cooling if you look back to my post with another technobox pmc carrier I have which sadly was not compatible it show how a fan can be mounted to these card in the manual I also uploaded with it

Yeah that's the idea. But ultimately stability is going to be a function of how you deal with 3.3V{underpowered Mediator VRM, add VRM to PMC, 3.3V from ATX PSU}. The HDD power cable doesn't carry 3.3V obviously. But the 5V supply is also a worry too which this might alleviate somewhat.

Yeah the 4930 has some kind of optional fan kit for it as well and a power header for it (JP4 I think).

That bridged PMC carrier like the other one the twin PMC BSC something or another won't work on Mediator as Heds sez, but maybe it's possible that Prometheus might be able to see past bridges-verdict is still not in on this.

That would be good for the Prometheus guys n gals

I’m happy to donate that bridged pmc carrier to @Hedeon for testing if he want to trial it one day
