How about reading the docs sometimes? And I even mentioned here TC020 is (libs/icon.library) in the Aminet archive.

You can also find information about FastWB in my IconLib.guide and I guess that you did not read the MagicMenu docs either, but if you still have problems then please give some more info about how to reproduce them.

Hi Pedro,

yes, that bug has already been reported per email by Michael and should be fixed now in build #575 here on the first page. Your screenshot still shows #573 (Aminet).

Yes I know about RTFM thingy
I need to verify again but I’m pretty sure I tested also the libs/icon.library and it was the same issue.

Hi Peter, I noticed that ConvertPNGtoOS4 does not save icons in the standard OS4 format.

Converted DualPNG icons when opened with OS4 Icons Editor, show only one image, basically like if you add only one image.

Also, icons saved with ConvertPNGtoOS4 are not supported by AfA OS, the icons look corrupted and show only a small graphic artifact.

I tried both IconEdit from OS3.2.2.1 and IconEdit from OS3.9 and both show the icon just fine under OS3.2.2.1.
Haven't tried on other system (without Peter's library though).

Yes, if you then on OS3 save the icon it is seen correctly by AfA OS because it becomes a Glow Icons.

So is it a Hybrid Icon ? or has a new icon format been created !

This is how he sees the IconEdit icon of OS 4.1 ! (none of the 2 images are visible)

Hi Carlo,

ConvertPNGtoOS4 needs zlib.library 3.2 installed as stated in the docs, and I'm sure that you did that correctly and successful in the past already, but yes, I know about your venerable age ...

And then you may also remember about an icon.library option FakeIconSizeForAfA ? Did you use that too ?

Peter is not a problem of age ... but of translator

I don't want to convert my DualPNG Icons and I don't want to use OS4 style icons, for obvious reasons.

I however on AfA One have icon.library and option FakeIconSizeForAfA (I don't forget easily).

I just analyzed the icon that my friend mfilos had sent me, experiencing the problem mentioned above.

Have a nice Sunday

Sorry, now I don't get it. Why are you using ConvertPNGtoOS4 if you don't want to use OS4 style icons?

And I guess that mfilos didn't use FakeIconSizeForAfa, because he has disabled icon_lib.exe on AfA_OS AFAIK.

But you can still "repair" these icons "with artifacts" by using FakeIconSizeForAfA on an AOS system with my library and then just save them again. Never use the "resize" option for icons in AfA_OS preferences, that's totally buggy.

No I "never used" ConvertPNGtoOS4, and I didn't do any conversion, I was just curious to find out what kind of icon mfilos had sent me

I don't know what mfilos installed!

Ok thank you although I don't need it, I only have "an Icon" the one mfilos sent me!

If you want to find out which format your icon has then you can use a hex-editor:

A PNG icon always starts like this (in a DualPNG icon you can find it twice):
Code:
89 50 4E 47 0D 0A 1A 0A 00 00 00 0D 49 48 44 52 ‰PNG........IHDR
The Amiga icon format will always start with $E3100001, and in OS 3.5 ColorIcons you can somewhere after "FORM", "ICON", "FACE" find one or two "IMAG" Chunks for the images, but in OS4 icons there are one or two "ARGB" chunks instead (example below):
Code:
..FORM...vICONFACE....//...ÕARGB
And in the mixed Aros icons the first image has an "IMAG" chunk, but the second an "ARGB" chunk.

Peter is correct.
I use ConvertPNGtoOS4 as I use OS4 iconset on my OS3.2.2.1.
Icon_lib.exe can't be used anyway or system doesn't boot (nor that I would use it compared to Peter's library).
I too learned 2 more things today from that chat though

It would be very handy if a program existed (like CopyIcon) that you could convert type of Icons to another (like PNG to OS4 and vice versa) without having to use different OSes... (One man can dream...)
