Upgrade kickstart and extended roms. Hyperion's new kickstart works also.

Here is a RAM CPLD firmware to try on the TF530.. it adds a waitstate for stability.

It says r2 but it should also work on r3. Pinout is the same.

The extra wait state makes no difference for the ISSI ram, that has something else going for it BUT here's the super weird thing: IT FIXES THE 1.5 mb SLOW-FAST ISSUE!

That makes no sense to me. I flashed back and forth twice just to make sure.

The fast ram throughput is now 16 mb/sec. Close to the TF534.

Useful info. try this beta... i think have it...

https://github.com/terriblefire/terr..._11_4_beta.zip

I had a very very slight timing issue that you'd only see on 10-12ns ram.. v sneaky.

EDIT: Matching TF534 firmware too...

https://github.com/terriblefire/terr...11_04_beta.zip

Both the TF530 and TF534 now have identical timings. TF534 has burst is the difference.

Ram speed is now back up with the $C00000 issue resolved. Alliance ram is stable. ISSI version still craps out.

I dont really know what to do with the ISSI.. can you drop the clock to 25Mhz and see if it helps?

I plan to do a quick smoke test on the Atari ST tomorrow. If that works then i'm calling it a day on the TF53x accelerators for a little while. Until i get through my todo list.

I am testing alliance at 50 mhz and ISSI at 36, honestly don't bother, it's not worth it.

Ok cool. I think we have our release candidates. Please test away everyone.

I can make a new firmware for the kipper2K card that will make it appear as a second 4Mb ZII card that will autoconfig @ 0x600000 for those using it with the Tf530. So they can have a total of 2Mb (Chip) + 4Mb (ZII) + 2Mb (Ultra Fast) ram. If anyone is interested?

I've been testing all evening with @Daedalus's GVP card in the machine. All three models TF530r2, r3 & TF534r2 work perfectly with it.

Its been a bit of an effort but we've fixed ZII support, Atari Support, A2000 Support and removed the need for INT2 flylead on the TF534.

This last bit is a major bonus IMHO. It means these boards are plug and play instead of needing to be able to solder something.

Here's hoping it goes smoothly for you. As you have said in the past, the bigger the community testing and using these things, the better they'll get. I hope to add an Atari or two to my collection one day. They're as rare as hen's teeth here in Aus though.

After that mega stretch, you deserve a break! Enjoy your time doing something for you. (More flying stuff?)

Cheers!

Try ThoR's MMULib package on Aminet. It has a MuFastROM tool.

The other option is SKick, which will work on most machines but doesn't use the MMU (patches the ROM so only works with certain ROMs).

ThoR's MuFastRom supports exteded roms, aka 1mb kickstart. I have running my A1200 Computers 1mb kickstart, wich is actually 512kb KS and 512kb Extended rom.

MuMAPROM sounds perfect.

SKick doesnt work with AROS AFAICT.... guess where this is going.

EDIT: TF534 boots on the Atari ST. Now for some tests and maybe a custom firmware.

with 4MB FastRAM included? No, that can't be true..
Maybe You can adjust FW in some way, that TF534 RAM is used instread of Motherboard memory? I think it is not doable without a ROM patch..

Will be unable to test anything - im out of town for some days...

Yes. but I needed to add it with a utility from disk. It uses the ZIII ram at its ZIII location. works fine.

Unfortunately it cannot format a floppy. However the TF520 can with the same code compiled.

Not possible ever. The ST ram has DMA. Way more complex DMA than the Amiga (multiple bus masters).

Looks like this might do the job?

http://aminet.net/package/comm/misc/8n1

Anyone with any experience of it?
