Honestly, Turrican 3 AGA would be amazing. 64 colors makes it on par with the Mega Drive, but I would close an eye on that and happily accept 32 as well (You know, expanded color palette and all)

Chris Huelsbeck did write a soundtrack for an imaginary Turrican sequel in TFMX format
https://chrishuelsbeck.bandcamp.com/...of-the-machine Also, there were post-2005 Turrican-inspired games like Hurrican (Win, open sourced) and Gunlord (NeoGeo and Dreamcast) Last edited by mahen; 20 February 2023 at 16:41. |

The Lionheart game name, characters, stories, all existing imagery and data are all under copyright and still owned. The owners have said they are not interested in licensing (at least not to me or anyone else who have tried contacting them on my behalf). I don't see this happening.

Send me a PM. There's nothing you can do. My lawyer has approached them. A large multi billion euro German company has had their lawyers approached them. They seem happy just to sit on it. It's not even related to their main business. At least they have not sent me any crease and desist letters.

The manual also explicitly mentions support for bigger brothers of the 68k (plus I'm fairly sure I read about this in slightly increased tech details somewhere else, but can't remember exactly where anymore...) |

No work was ever done. Just an updated disk that fixed a bug only seen on AGA computers.

That's a shame. I used to dream about how amazing a Lionheart AGA would look. People probably wouldn't agree but I think with the talent of Erwin and Henk that their Playstation game Adventures of Lomax could have come out on on a base A1200 if it made financial sense.

There is an interview with Erwin Kloibhofer in an old Amiga Joker Magazin,
where he talked about the disappointment with the rushed Amiga version of Flink. It could have been something really special, but Psygnosis forced him to do it "as fast as possible". He also said something like "I should have pushed back against Psygnosis" and that he still regrets that he didnĀ“t. |

Phew, i cant remember what issue it was; must be one of the later ones.
(i have almost all (just a few are missing) ...but i am too tired to look today) I will look tomorrow, ok ? Lionheart was especially made for the Amiga and it shows. Flink was a very rushed Mega-Drive Port and Erwin Kloibhofer regrets that. I could write so much more about Lionheart & Stuff but who in there right mind would want to read that, ; besides, this thread is about the wonderful Turrican 2 AGA that Muzza did. I love it !!! ; and especially the End Credits Thank you Muzza !!! |

Yup, thats the Interview that i was refering to.
A "mini" interview on the same page as the review itselft. Really bold of the Joker ! I read it along time ago and i did not remember it 100% accurately, because of that, its always good to have the source. Joker asked: The Console "Flink" is just a few weeks old, how did you manage to pull him over that fast ? (there was a slight word play/joke in it but that gets lost in translation) Erwin Kloibhofer answered: Well, that didn't happen entirely voluntarily, because Psygnosis wanted that piece absolutely finished before Christmas. So, we had to make a more or less 1:1 Port, i would have prefered to work on it a bit longer. ------------------------------- On another note tho; there was "never" a Lionheart AGA version planed. That comes from a Erik Simon interview in Amiga Joker 11/93. https://www.kultboy.com/pic/4555/ When the Joker asked about a AGA version... Erik said: When a Commodore Manager saw the game, he thought it was especially made for the new AGA chipset Erik goes on:Why even bother with a pimped up version ? ;we have already pulled out all the registers. ----------------------------------------------------------------- So, thats that So kind of you Lionagony that you want to hear my Lionheart storys, anecdotes, details about the game and my general obsession with that Game but i dont want to bore you with that kind of fanboyism Lets just say, Lionheart is MY favorite Amiga game and then comes Turrican 2 and i got the curve back to the topic Turrican 2 and the AGA version is an all time (Amiga) classic. Thank you Muzza; you made Amiga history |

>Erik goes on:Why even bother with a pimped up version ?
>;we have already pulled out all the registers. That's too bad, although I'm happy with what we got there is always that urge for what could have been. Would have loved for more people to try and push AGA but it was never to be at that time. However, knowing that pushing AGA could have given us something similar to Lomax means I am also happy to have gotten to play that game even though it wasn't on the Amiga. |
