Problem With Battle Chess - Page 2

When I say slow I mean the animation keeps stopping for a second or 2 and I know this isn't normal because I have played battle chess on my amiga for a long time when my copy was working

I have the A501 expansion so I have 1mb. I have like 7mb or something ridiculous in my emulator.

Also bear in mind this Amiga 500 isn't the same Amiga that I owned as a kid. I only bought this one recently. I don't know if that makes a difference.

I dunno what to do. Every copy of Battle Chess is not working properly in my real Amiga or in the latest version of Amiga Forever. I've tried kickstart 1.2 and 1.3. Maybe its the case that all the battle chess adf files on the internet have suddenly become corrupt but I doubt that.

Well it doesn't need 7mb for WinUAE. 1.3, 512/512, the most common config, works well.

What's going on? I downloaded your adf. I booted it up in amiga forever 2016 plus edition with default settings. I double click on the battle chess disk icon. It loads the window containing BattleChess and ChessToDH0 and before I get a chance to double click on the BattleChess icon it gives me that software error then guru mediation then reboots.

Ahh, AF. Use WinUAE 3.2.2.

I have AF2016. I'll make an RP9 and see if it works.

EDIT: Use the A600 config for AF, 1.2/1.3 errors.

I remember back in the day that my A500 would play this game fine for about 10 minutes then the sound would go all clicky and the speed of the movement would grind to a halt. I always thought it was due to a bad crack.

The IPF of Battle Chess works with AF kick1.3.

I can confirm the A600 config works fine. Why then does it not work on the A500 when I had a working copy of it on one of my floppies? Playing it once again on my 500 is what I really want to do

Because it's a bad crack. Works in WinUAE, not in AF, not in real A500.

Maybe someone could make you an ADF out of the IPF?

How are you copying the adf to disk?
Are you just using the ADF with the Gotek or are you writin to a real floppy disk?

Well I tried booting from the Gotek and I also tried using Xcopy to copy it from the gotek to a real floppy. But I doubt it's the gotek that is the issue since the emulator also has the same issue in A500 settings but A600 settings it works fine. So bizarre.
