I am not only one who doesnt take it like a joke I am afraid.
There is OTS area where these jokes are welcomed (especially when OTS "is not like it used to be").
But if you cant read messages because they were deleted ...
Never mind, Im gonna search not appropriate words

Hi All,

I'm not going to argue with anyone about their opinion of what is acceptable and what isn't, but I have no time to waste on what has become known as "political correctness" and I'm quite astonished that some others do seem to.

Sorry for being thick prowler, but what "political correctness" are you referring to?

Hi TCD,

As I understand it, "Political correctness" is a term used widely these days to refer to a way of life which focusses on going to extreme lengths to cause no offence whenever possible.

I know what political correctness means in general, but I was wondering how this applies to EAB.

You and me both, mate! But I'm not going to pursue it. If you're *that* interested, ask KG, he's the one imposing his idea of PC throughout EAB.

As I have already said above: What next, I wonder? The end of OT perhaps?

Well, I would say it's just a horrible clash of two opposite senses of humour (KG and Sensi) It's a 'prank' that has gone wrong (somehow). I really wouldn't take it too serious

imho, simply, groups and user messages, except for eventual copyright risks or extreme shit, shouldn't be policed at all.

Oh, you mean the American Way of Life?

I think this is stupid and the moderators on this parade should stop doing so immediately. This is a clear lack of criteria.

As always been said on many forums, good moderation is evident when you don't notice it

Moderators should not let their actions be influenced completely on personal views about life or whatever.

Hey, last I heard, bad words were NOT a problem here. Everyone uses them in real life unless you are too anal (read above).

Fuck fuckitty shit cunt ass bitch whore :P

Yours truly, an ex pseudo-admin of this lovely board.

One of the reasons I've been participating less here at EAB is due to the overly aggressive moderation and outright censorship. It's disheartening. Maybe the name should be changed to the Iranian Amiga Board.

yeah, it is annoying for a few years now... feels like this board isn't for the people to have a chat about this and that, it's for the mods...

well you'd be wrong in surmising that censorship is an attitude that pertain to a given region in the world.
... you really should delete that reference to IAB, though...

Well, there are the 'no-go' links and uploads, chat about banned members, political and religious discussions and... hmmm...
Have to admit that doesn't stop me from participating here

It just had to be repeated

I've been swearing all my life, well, certainly since I started school, and that doesn't make me a bad person Kids these days seem to start swearing around the age they start talking, believe me, I know a kid and his first word was F@#k, and I'm not joking, blame the parents most people would say.

If a child is old enough to access the internet, then they know all the language that's available, and are probably dirtier than you or I. Take a look at some of the old cracktro's 'n' demo's, they're full of swearing at times, and most of the members where still at school, so what's the difference.

We can't protect those who already know about swearing etc.... And most kids do anyway, so why moderate swearing, every f@#ker does it, including me
