Do you expect a 15 year old OS will play avi´s when it was released even before someone even know what a avi was? All of that on a 14 Mhz CPU???

Let's put it the other way around : When you want all that stuff, why don't you simply get an PC? It will take a lot of effort to make all these things possible on your Amiga and you will need to buy some more stuff... Do you really think it's worth the hassle?

No the amiga is not capable of playing avi's.

If you want to use it for anything slightly near as a serious machine you will have to go the upgrade route which is quite expensive.

At least an 040 accelerator idealy an 060 one.

You could then play mp3's and surf the net.

Yes both will bring better functions to the table, but both require you to upgrade the amigas CPU.

Yes, in conjunction with a decent accelerator.

Have a look for Apollo or Blizzard 1230's, 1240's or 1260's.
They are all good cards with slightly different properties and greatly differing speeds and capabilities.

WB 3.0 and 3.1 with upgraded software and drivers can do most of the things you require, however 3.5 and 3.9 will certainly do them all.

I would suggest that you have a look around by searching Google and the various forums for info on what the Amiga CAN do, then follow the upgrade path that best suits what you want to achieve.

os3.5 will run on a 020 with 4mb fast ram but it will be painfuly slow, ideal is 030 and over with 8 mb fast ram.
os3.9 will run on an 020 with 6mb fast ram, but will be even worse.

Have a look at Bloodwych's ClassicWB leyton...this would run very well on your current setup and provide you with lots more functionality than your current 3.1 setup.

i have seen this http://classicwb.abime.net/
but i will have to connect amiga hdd to my pc under emulation,
i have seen these emulators , what is the point i have a real amiga why do i want to pretend my pc is one.
if you could set it up on a real amiga it would be cool, but i have been told how hard it is to do so,

You only have to connect it to the pc to prepare the hard drive for installation on the real amiga...it doesn't just run on the emulator...it is for real amiga's too.
