OK, OK! Once again I will spend an hour on the 5 freeway in Los Angeles on another semi-heroic Amiga rescue trip. Hopefully I won't break down on the freeway. I'm one of the few people left in Southern California who doesn't own a cellphone.

Ha, ha, I still don't have one either, of course I don't live in La La Land

If you get too lost or breakdown, I have a friend who lives in the Valley :laugh

I too do not own such a contraption. I hate seeing people everywhere I go with those damn phones stuck to their faces. Talking to people about absolutely nothing, just so they can be seen talking on a a cellphone while driving or in the grocery store. What a complete waste of technology...

Angry Gone!

The guy e-mailed me back and said it was sold. Three other people had called him. Apparently I was the first caller. This is the second time I've fumbled over an A3000 deal.

Let's re-title this thread "The Fish That Got Away and Other Tales of a Lazy Retro-Amigan"

The up side to this is that I just e-mailed Gary Coleman and invited him to come over to EAB and share his Amiga experiences with us.

Since I keep striking out on Amiga deals, how about this one I just found. This is all the info I have:
Quote:
ATARI Falcon computer & monitor w cubase & midi interface, $200
I've only seen one of these for sale on eBay recently and it sold for about that much (minus a monitor).

Wasn't the Falcon and 030 based machine? Since it comes with a monitor as well I'm thinking it may be worth it however I'm sure there are others out there with tons more Atari experience then I have

The Falcon has little software available that takes advantage of its features so you will just be running mostly old Atari ST programs many which don't even work on the Falcon. Unless you are big into Midi software I would not offer more than $50-99. An 030 based A1200 would suit you better, also the OS that the Falcon has is terrible, it is called GEM. Last note don't forget that the Atari ST line uses the 8.3 file extentions and that is a clone of the MS-DOS filing system, yuck.

I agree with Pyromania (allthough I want to have a Falcon myself ) if you want to run ST games/software etc. go and buy an Atari 1040STe which got standart SIM Modules inside, upgrade it to 4 MB and get a cheap HD I have two of those and they are great (and cheap ) ....

Thanks for the advice, guys. I won't feel bad about not buying this one.
