Just a thought:

Oldskool UK are trying to organise a 2008 meet in Manchester, is there any possibility of a joint meet?

Mine would've been in daily usage still, if my acc-card hadn't died on me
i do have a accelerator card a 68040 but it broke im not sure what is wrong with it, the fan became detached from the board so maybe it overheats too much, or i could have worn out the slot under the amiga you plug it in because it was very loose. so i was basically using a plain amiga 1200 for about 10 years.

As Merlin has already mentioned, the guys at OldskoolUK are toying with the idea of having a pub meet in early 2008. I'd def be interested in showing my face at the EAB bash tho.

@Merl: I have an 040/40mhz card for sale if you want first dibs?

Yeah, no probs m8, it's sat here doing nothing unfortunately. I'm still active with Amiga things but the majority of this exists through emulation these days.

Maybe for you, but I have an A1200 with an OS3.5 and an OS 3.9 CD I want to play with... I never got the chance first time around.

You mean, my card, merlin? I've not got the faintest idea.... It's gotta be one of the soldered chips on the card (Blizzard 1230/IV, if I'm not mistaken). I've taken out the CPU, FPU and RAM, and the exact same thing happens when I poweron the Amiga... ie, nothing.

Kinda like what would happen if AmigaInc suddenly produced some actual goods, not just hot air... nothing would happen because we wouldn't trust their stuff to last during the time in postage :P

i dont know whats wrong with mine, the fan is detached and when i try plugging it in the motherboard it is too loose i must have detached it too many times. there could be nothing wrong with mine i may have just worn out the attachment where you plug it in on the motherboard or it could be catastrophically knackered as far as i know.
