If you hook up *TWO* Wintel floppy drives to the same floppy bus, there is an MS-DOS based utility that uses one drive to alter the timing of the other allowing you to rip tracks without sector gaps (i.e. Amiga tracks). It's a really bizarre hack, but it works. http://www.oldskool.org/disk2fdi/ |

I own the original CD version too, I just haven't seen it for many years. Seems I need to tidy my house.

Anyway, as AndreasM said, I´ll get the disks soon and check ´em out. Any news will be posted here. |

Of course if we're hacking it anyway we might want to clean up the language... I've been sorely tempted to try to clean up the English dialogue in Evil's Doom. The Croat-English translation is interesting to say the least. xD |

Hey there, as I am Czech and have the game, I can offer my help with translating the game or maybe even translate it on my own
I once tried to translate Brány Skeldalu (The Gates of Skeldal) to English, yet I had trouble hacking the exe file with a hex editor. It is a great Czech RPG/dungeon, this one for PC MS-DOS. As I have no clue how to rip the text from an Amiga game, I would need assistance at least with that. Are you sure there is an English version of "Ve stínu magie"? Never heard about it, most of the games were released only locally, thus they were Czech versions only. Last edited by WhiteFalcon; 08 November 2006 at 09:31. |

Hey Amiga-friends,
I got the disks today and do backups now. After that I will browse the content. I hope it´s possible to assemble a working (booting) English version at first. |

Hi again.
I think there are three versions available. Two English ones and a demo version. One English version is already installed. There were no errors during installation. It´s working from floppy disks and HD. I´m using a A4000 / 060 and the mousepointer is missing when I start the game from HD. But it´s playable from Floppy disk (booting without caches). I´ll check the txt.-files to see if everything is in English. The second version and the demo version are untested until now. Will do it tommorrow. After that I´ll send AndreasM what I achieved. And then we should find some users for gametesting and bug hunting. I hope there are no bugs... I hope someone is able to do a WHDload version to make it more compatible. (e.g. mousepointer problem) Okay, that´s all! More to come Greetings. |
