I just had another thought...... would WHDLoadCD32 be a good alternative for those who don't wish to arse about with keys?

Stein's HDF's were a collection of games made into a hdf per game for WinUAE. I have a bunch of hdf's of his. He is my friend and I will pass it on that people are interested again. He hasn't been doing much of anything computer related, but I will pass it on anyways.

I thought I would post the progress of my WHD-HDF project, like MageMaster said I've just been busy with real life crap, not doing much of anything computer related. But with the exception of just a few HDFs I'm almost done (I really should get back to this).
Stein (Btw the way this system works is like I mentioned earlier, if you've bought your WHD Key it can be installed on an HDF and just thrown into the directory with the other HDFs, everything is written into the startup-sequences. If you don't have a key everything still works without a glitch, you'll just have the wait screen as usual.) Code:

I like your new WHD direction, Stein. But is there any chance you still have your original collection of HDFs from 2001/02? If you do and are able to upload them again, Zetr0's unlimited webspace/bandwidth might come in handy. I can also help with mirroring if needed.
I tried to find them again myself, but archive.org - while preserving bits and bobs of your original homepage, hasn't archived any of the actual downloads. A few of them I've spotted over at AmigaPower.tk (I *think* they're your HDFs anyway, I feel familiar with many of their contents), but there's a whole lot more that appear to have disappeared into the ether. I believe Godflesh had an HDFs section on one of his numerous FTPs, but it seems now his AEN webpage doesn't even exist anymore. I recall in particular that you had a rather unique version of Pinball Dreams and Fantasies that I haven't spotted anywhere else since - a custom-packed version which bundled all the tables from both games together, and had its own WB-based custom loader! And for those out there who feel they need to question me as to why I want "inferior" non-WHD versions....... well, I'm collecting forgotten files as a sort of hobby, and WinUAE should allow me to get around any compatability problems that occur by not using WHDLoad anyway. EDIT: For interest, here's the sole archived version of Stein's HDFs list from April '01.... this isn't the most recent list before it closed down though (Hook not listed for example). |

That probably is it, I reckon. Will have to try it out to see. Cheers for the upload though!
BTW, looking at that thread you linked to, I didn't know it was seemingly hosted on ppa.nl before - I'd visited that website just last week! But it seems they changed bits around somehow and also got rid of the bundled version in the process. Bit crap really. =P |

Stein hasn’t been on in a few years. Was his collection ever uploaded?
