You mention running from Chip RAM because you can have as much as 8 MB in WinUAE? But there is no way to have an OS running + Magic64 only in Chip RAM, such a (real) computer needs a least 10 - 12 MB Fast just to load the workbench and other stuff. Real Amiga are limited to 2 MB of Chip RAM as you surely know. A second non working game comes to mind : Myth (i believe it is the same game that also exist on the Amiga). |

i think some differences are also related to the fact that im launching the emulator in the most 'lite' way, without workbench or OS; it does require 2MB to work in this way (2.5 to be precise) also lowest standard resolution, non rtg ill share with you some tries, now im curious about the real CPU performance |

all the Amiga C64 emuls are all very buggy , nothing that can be compared to the good C64 emulators that are on PC
I tried all. A64, Magic 64, frodo etc they are all abominable and incomplete, in my opinion they do not deserve any preservation |

my idea is to preserve the software, possibly having the working disks, and full registered versions |

There are a lot of them working perfect or nice. Mac68k Pc from msdos era (bridgeboard +++) Apple II Sega Master System C64 is quite good with Magic64 Etc For the C64 the hard part seems to be the SID but it can be replaced by real SID to lower the burden on the CPU (SIDBlaser or ZorroSID). Some skilled programmer could improve again on available emulators but most likely it needs to be done in assembly. |

Magic64 was probably the best C64 emu on Amiga during it's time. didn't run to bad on 030/50 and ran great on 040/35 with RTG. It was handy to be able to toggle accurate drive emulation on/off as that was where a notable performance hit was.
FrodoPPC was spot on and ran great and until Vice was ported years later, was the best option if you had the hardware. WinuaePPC just about managed a stock A500 with playable speed (BlizzardPPC 040/25 - PPC/175) The C64 Sensation CDs might be worth looking at if you want the real old stuff. It's worth noting at this point in time (late 90s) that similar C64s emus for pc targeting 486,low end pentiums were not much better. |

You may also try the C64 emulators for Macintosh from the era under ShapeShifter, for comparison:
Examples: C64 - https://www.macintoshrepository.org/17142-c64 Mac64 - https://www.macintoshrepository.org/67844-mac64 Commodore 64 Emulator - https://www.macintoshrepository.org/...re-64-emulator Also the DOS C64 Emulators under PC-Task and DOSBox. Don't expect too much though. Best for emulation of C64 on classic Amiga is still MagiC64. |

I'm no expert on C64 emulators but i would of thought Frodo under Vampire or Pi would be best?
I guess with pistorm and Vampire a more recent emulator could be compiled. Always thought it was a shame Commodore didn't invest in an official C64 emulator. |

just found some more infos about GO64! and 'the 64 emulator' from Readysoft :
http://cbm.ficicilar.name.tr/commodo...-for-the-amiga so the old Readysoft one should work also without extra accessories it would be great a test on real hw to check if the disk works in first then EDIT im readind into the disk files, it was a Randy Linden work?
