Yeah, all 3 will produce video, as will simply recording with WinUAE's built in codecs. I wish there'd be some super easy 'record this window and click stop button to upload HTML5 video to Youtube' (or someplace). That'd be great

I guess Camtasia comes closest to that, and it's only if you want perfection that you give WinUAE an, um, similar codec and convert it to an exactly optimized video file.

I also know some guys that sample multichannel RGB on video out on the hardware to capture the exact reality

So there are a bunch of techniques. I still prefer WinUAE's built-in recording that Toni made, especially if what you record can be run nicely in WinUAE. It only takes two button presses and some conversion program, like Yamb or Total Video Converter, or perhaps even Youtube's uploader converts it fine if the codec is right.

So it all depends on the purpose and quantity. If you want to make videos for the future, consider HTML5 video. The standards aren't set in stone yet, but WebM seems the most supported option and this will convert it.

Then reencode the video with your preferred encoder frontend and codec.

From easy to complex i use
Freemake Video Converter (excellent for such a simple tool)
Handbrake 0.95 with VidCoder frontend (more options)
Me-Gui (to have full control on every aspect of an encode)

For ultimate quality encode everything in h.264 (x264 codec) with aac audio.

Best of luck.

All these tools also work well with Camtasia, which is also an excellent tool.
Thank you very much. These sites have been very helpful to me

I am a music lover, and I usually download music on SoundCloud Downloader to save them on my laptop to listen to them when I'm free. Besides, sometimes I use TikTok Downloader to download my favorite videos.

If you have 2000+ € to spend on equipment you can try my recording setup which includes, but is not limited to
Blackmagic Design Decklink 4K Extreme 12G
RGB to SCART Cable.
Open Source Scan Converter - works nice with interlaced video modes. On standard modes it makes vertical rolling.
For the standard PAL and NTSC video modes:
Composite to HDMI converter.
Koryuu Transcoder
If you want to have crappy, retro, 1980's alike video and audio output, you can try the output from RF modulator and use RF to HDMI converter.
Time Sleuth for measuring the lag.
I also have RGB to VGA converter but it gives the same output as the RGB to SCART with the OSSC.
