You only get to be mad if you paid for it lmao. I enjoyed ChaseHQ and Continental Circus on the amiga, I had played both at the arcades. ST ports were just a fact of life, I spent most of my money on Amiga magazines and blank disks as a kid.

My friends and I always bought the cheapest ones (the pocket money issue) to replace the cheapest ones we broke while playing Summer Games or something simiiar. That would happen about every month or two. There was always this one kid whose dad would repair theirs. Wish my dad would have been able to do that...

What I don't quite get in hindsight is, that the perceived quality of PC Games and my willingness to pay full price for them was so much higher when I got my PC a few years later in 1995.

I know what you mean there Tigerskunk. I was about to say it was because a 1995 PC was so mcuh more powerful than an A500, but in terms of clock speed and memory an A500 was just as big a leap from the C64. Its only going from 880k floppy disks to 550Mb CDs that was a bigger leap in number terms.

Honestly I never liked the Interactive Movie direction a lot of games went in at that time - a lot of my favourite PC games in that era were sequels to my favourite Amiga games actually. Things like Tomb Raider and the hordes of Doom and Command & Conquer clones did little for me. Maybe I was old, sad and closed-minded by then...

The worst version by far is the C64 port, Gary Bracey might as well have just done a shit in your mouth and taken 10 quid out of your pocket. Scum.

Amstrad CPC port is easily the best, same speed as ZX port but without the naff ZX Spectrum graphics it has to use.
Has it ever been publicly stated why the 64 version turned out so bad? Has the author ever commented on it?
