yes they have added a few things here and there, but it's basically the ST program running on the Amiga.

Agreed, if they had more time I'm sure if could have been better, but at the time that R-Type was released on Amiga, I'm unsure which development team at the time could have done a better job.

I disagree. The blitter is MASSIVELY used in R-Type 2, the sprite hardware is MASSIVELY used for some of the parallax scrolling layers, the music is improved, the sound fx are improved.

Sure, the ST version might well have been the basis of the conversion, but its clear Arc made some effort between ST and Amiga versions.

A typical ST port might have better music and not much else, R-Type 2 had considerably more than simply better music.

Well i do agree. R-type II is quite a pleasurable game.
