let see... EoB got me hooked to RPG, Dune made me a fan of the Lynch' movie and, later, read the books.
But if you mean games that simply you visit and visit as they were sandbox games, then... Prince of Persia simply got me playing it just for the sake of jumping platforms, with no interest in finishing the game, which is a feat i guess. Perihelion i beat many times just to try and break the game system (which i did) EoB i knew each turn and room by memory, so much that there are places in there that i consider comfortable as a living room. in Frontier i pored something along 200 hours of game. Lotus I i drive just to look at the scenery, all round the world. Xenon 2, Horror Zombi from the Crypt, Elvira I, Ishar I, etc... |

EoB got you hooked on RPG? what about Wasteland and Darklands?
Prince of Persia is better on PC. Perihelion = garbage. It really is. Frontier? Rubbish compared to Elite. Lotus 2 = great. Not even Top Gear 3000 (or whatever) on SNES can beat that. The rest = great. |

Blimey, calm down! People are allowed their own opinions you know. Anyway we're not discussing what was crap or what was better on the PC or whatever...

Well there are informed and un informed opinions, IMHO. :-)
In my "informed" opinion (that is, IMHO) there's no reason to play the aforementioned games on Amiga as opposed to the PC. |

the story you get in the introduction is... typical but there are so many lovely details that theres no problem to imagine something way cooler... you just look at the screen in the first chamber and WOOOOOOOOOOW! |

Monkey Island's an obvious one.
When I was a kid I got right into the Dizzy games. I loved the fact it had its own world populated with its own characters and personalities (well, as much as eggs can have a personality). I really took to it and it definitely captured my imagination. The scenery in the third Lotus game drew me in too - I particularly liked the futuristic and the thunderstorm levels (though the future tracks are absolute pigs to actually play). Really captured my imagination too for some reason. |

Ah yes, how could i forget Dune, the adventure game. The music is so mesmarising, the atmosphere so out of this world while keeping up credibility...eventhough it's not really a very good game I really feel like playing it through again right now

huh?

The AGA version is beautiful, but the CD32 version has no music. IMHO, if they abjured that soccer ball mechanic and just concentrated on the real platform aspects, this could have been up there with some of the best console platformers. :-) |

It is an English soccer fetish game. :-)
They should have made it in classic platform style, IMHO. It would have been brilliant; I care not for uniqueness. BTW, there's also another SNES games that copies it, though the name escapes me. It clones the ball mechanic, and is woeful. |
