Ah, understood. Thanks for clarifying. No, I'd be on an Amiga, and my objective is to share the playing experience with other players rather than showcase my own.

Or just continue playing the AGA version with native install. The WHDLoad patch doesn't fix anything else but the copy protection in this game.

************PROPOSAL*************
Guys, Regarding the original intention of this thread (Long may the current discussion continue) I propose to start playing Digital Integration's Tornado, and report back here in the next few days. My hope is some of you will join in and we can discuss our exploits and any challenges here, but failing that, comments, advice and sympathy are welcome. I don't know a lot about the gameplay, but always thought it looked awesome, particuarly in it's AGA incarnation. The Tornado was apparently the fastest plane in the world, within it's own particular low-level environment, 600mph at 50 feet? [ Show youtube player ] I've sent away for a pc analogue to Amiga joystick cable which I'm hoping to try out soon. Anyway, fly fast, stay low. |

Good luck Just looking at the controls makes me dizzy
I have never played this before, graphics look quite good, but the frame rate is absolutely abysmal (3-4 fps on B1260/50Mhz) with max settings. Someone, maybe Angus, prompted me to look at that, and I think something can be done about it. However there are no promises and it's off topic for this thread, so enjoy the challenge top guns |

As the creator of this thread (which has been enjoyably wide-ranging in it's flight-sim discussion) I hereby declare that anything you (or anybody else) has to say on the general subject, is more than welcome. |

Did Sid Meier create any flight sim for Amiga ? I played Solo Flight on Atari 8-bit and would really enjoy an upgraded version of it on a beefer machine as I still play it on emulator.
While I continued playing flight sims from Jane's and D.I.D., I think I maxed out at something like TFX on 80386 and couldn't really sink that much time for more complex sims. |

Although, an Amiga version makes more sense to me. I appreciate the DOS version had the Command function and the Mission Designer which was cut from the Amiga version. A shame, but it's what we've got. |

Guys, I put this in a separate thread, but Paraj allowed me to try his experimental and very early stage Tornado speed-up code.
Judge for yourself, here. https://eab.abime.net/showthread.php...34#post1672834 |

but its darn good fun. :-) Also, very playable and accessible, Knights of the Sky. And arguably, Carrier Command which is a very involved game, but it's beautifully accessible. |

Paraj's patches are not needed in WinUAE as there's no chipset speed bottlenecks.
