yes, I can also confirm that I've seen boards in worse condition work ok, but of course there can be more than meets the eye. Just change the Gary socket and see if it's a go.

I would hang on to this until you get your faulty A1200 motherboard repaired. It might just provide some donor parts for the video circuit. Have you considered this? prowler |

Yep - and no it won't... But I also have an A600 board that is working - might use that as donor if necessary! Unless somebody wants to swap a broken A1200 board (that is repairable using parts from my A1200 board) for my working A600 board?

Fine.
Just thought I'd check. BTW, isn't there an area on EAB where you can offer swaps like that? prowler Last edited by prowler; 22 March 2009 at 23:04. |

Hi Folks,
just a short update: Yesterday I meet a friend and he was able to renew the gary-socket. He works a the local university so we couldn't finde any tv. So I have to test it here at home. As soon as i could spend some time, i'll test it and report here back! BR |

Still dead
Hey again,
It's still dead. Still no video signal and no floppy life sign. But... Before the gray socket recovery both, the power and drive LED where on. Now it's just the power LED. Hmm, i think i have to give up |

FU! It did it Again
I can't fix my a500+. So rabbit is so kind to donate me his old a500+ board.
But while I was cleaning up, and "dedusting" my old a500 I found bouth fitted with a memory extention. One from Comodore and one from... noname... both fittet with this FU batteries. The one vom Comodore is still intact and working. The noname memory-extention-board is covert with this greendust. Looks broken right? What kind of new Battery should i buy for the working one? Cos I'd like to change the battery to prevent "greendusting". BR HRM |
