This is a better improvement. Practice does indeed make perfect... or at least slightly better

Levels 23 and 24 are being a bitch for me at the moment and thats only if I get past level 15 which still gives me headaches

Finally had close to a dream run with this game, got through L15 and L23 with minimal loss.
Crashed and burned on level 29 heres my new score: 364100 Last edited by off1k; 17 May 2009 at 17:23. |

Since you are so close to beating the game I will let you in on a tip. When you finish level 30 and the time winds down for the bonus, pause it when it hits zero. Otherwise, when the game ends your score will show as whatever the score was prior to beating the game. Learned that the hardway.

Haven't played this game very often, yet. But I'm most comfortable with the "Directional Flick & Lock"-setting (and two buttons).
What do you use? |

Just 'Directional' and two buttons. Works quite well for me, because I can't stand the 'Lock' setting

But with that setting you can't fire to, for example, up/left while running to the right. I highly doubt off1k and TF beat this game with the standard directional-setting.

@TF
Thanks for the tip, you must already have a good score mate but no show and tell ![]() Using 2 button directional lock with analog joypad, havnt tried flick yet and dont know if I will. Wont play this over next few days, might give deluxe galaga another go and try to improve my slack score but Im just not into that at the moment ![]() |

Thanks. I think I don't really need the "flick"-part - so I'll change to "directional lock".

No, I haven't be able to replicate my clearing run yet. I use directional lock.

And not updating xpect's score is your revenge?
![]() After off1k's and TF's responses I'm now convinced more than ever that "directional lock" is the best control method... ![]() |
