Why do you have to convert MODs AT ALL?
Amiga Paula music should be heard exactly as it sounds on the real hardware. This "improvement" for broadcast is BLASPHEMY! |

Something keeps killing the service at random, yet it ran fine for a week with no issue.... grr... its up again, will look at moving it to a fresh install of Windows on a VM and see if that gets around the problem.

@XPD Just wanted to give a "Thank you" shout.
Enjoying the stream very much, it's the perfect "work soundtrack", not being distracted by vocals etc. I hope you can keep it in the air for some time! |

Its having the odd glitch, such as mentioned in previous posts and I'm also coming across the odd track that's not converted well, so removing those as I find them. I'm planning on keeping it running for long as I can Thankfully I'm on a decent connection with unlimited data. |

Odd, came across another one that sounds corrupted when streaming, but when I flick over to the server, its playing perfectly fine there. Something weird
The joys of being an admin for a service.... |

I've been streaming it most of today while working - lots of tracks I've not heard of, so made a nice change from my overplayed remixes

No-one answered my question about why the mods have to be re-processed when they sound fine as RAW PAULA AUDIO anyway?

Im guessing, its because if your listening on a portable device with headphones. It makes you feel dizzy. Try listening to mods on headphones, its very disorientating. I would also guess, this is why WinUAE has a seperation function, to help combat this. |

I have hundreds of Amiga demos and some games recorded in 50% stereo separation from WinUAE, I find it the only way to both enjoy Amiga stereo yet not be disoriented by the otherwise total stereo separation that is the bane of Amiga audio recorded on audio cassette (believe me, I speak from experience, that's why I chose mono most of the time). |

Conversion to MP3 is useful for separated stereo listening
Indeed it doesn't exist a stereo which natively play Amiga modules, so conversion to MP3 is mandatory At least this is what i do just for fun |

But yes, if you can partially combine the stereo sides of Paula audio MP3s, then that's good. I find not many MOD players, especially on Android, can do that, and that's why I chose to record from WinUAE in the first place. |

Still "on the air" as it were, had to downsize the playlist a bit while I still fight to find out why some (mostly Allister Brimble) mods coverted to MP3, fail to play via the stream, yet locally theyre perfect... but plenty of other stuff to listen to
