Although it seems I'm alone on this, I always preferred MicroProse on the Amiga, that and Zany Golf were the only ones I ever played.

You must be very good playing ,I never have obtained a par in this one game, too difficult to make average throws.

I love my Wii and all but wiisports golf while loads of fun , is quite inaccurate i thought - no doubt a dedicated golfing game will better this

Wii sports is a hoot

I'd imagine Pga is regarded the best on Amiga and it's my choice too.I would say Zany golf just for the music but it's not a golf game.

I'm with you Belgarath, Microprose all the way. Good learning curve, getting down to scratch, quite reasonable 3d graphics, most of all damn good playability!!

(Bsides which, just been playing it again........damn the missus is wracked off....lol)

You're not alone. I've tried every single OCS/ECS compatible Amiga golf game and Microprose Golf kicks ass. I love the multiple camera angle replays. I think it's the only true 3D Amiga golf game.

PGA European Tour is probably second, but it somehow feels like a PC port (maybe it is). Before I found Microprose Golf or PGA, I used to play WCLB quite a lot. (strange... I hate real golf)

Then what is it then

Granted, it's obviously not a simulation like PGA or Microprose Golf, but I would call it a 'proper' computer game - i.e. it takes advantage of the fact it's running on a computer to put stuff in there that you couldn't possibly do in real life (a pinball table for golf balls? Getting a giant burger to jump up and down on the hole? These are far-fetched for crazy golf, let alone real golf).

Wonderful game frikilokooo, when you learn how to shoot properly - which is a really easy to do timing and selecting the right club - it's just natural . Awesome game!
Played it MANY times with my bro on an A600 - got probably a birdie (or better? ) on all of the fields - oh, happy times!

Tried it recently, the WHDLoad ECS version - after about 10 years - and I seem to forgot everything and can't play right... might try this one someday again... Marvelous game!!!

PS: IIRC it has a score table so maybe it'll be a nice game to play in the EAB (or/and Lemon? ) compo!

Amiga :
The Golf Games I remember of hand where “ PGA Tour Golf “ & “World Class Leaderboard” i enjoyed both games i must admit PGA Tour Golf became my favorite for the amiga.

i was inspired to purchase after seeing my friends Sega Mega Drive Version, Yep sad, but hey better then reading it in some magazine for comparison.

C64 :
For Classic playing i say there only one winner for that goes to Leaderboard on C64. Spent most of my spare time playing Leaderboard, i enjoyed the fond memory's great Classic.

if i had to choose between to two Classic PGA Tour or Leaderboard i edge to the Classic C64 Version of Leaderboard.

Microprose Golf for me, but it got to easy after 100's of hours of play and I remember it crashed it you got a better score than -100 and something on a 72 hole tournament which started to happen a lot. Faldos Golf was just to hard, if you were in the rough he could only hit the ball about 10 years, I could do better than that in real life and I'm shite at golf. So kudos to anyone who could get a good score on that game.

Yeah a putting game i'd say but not really in the same category as PGA and Microprose.

No it's nowhere near something like PGA.

There are data disks for PGA European Tour? Where?

I guess there are. New courses. PGA exists in more versions, with 2 disks and with 3 (or 4?)disks. I am not sure now but I will check that out at home on weekend.
