They was there in the original circuit, so i kept them.

Also maybe even ditch the socket for the chip or use an SMD version.

I ordered some with plastic case. Hopefully the case will act as insulator. But i will see when they arrive.

Yes, there is no room for the socket, but i think the IC will fit if directly soldered.

At the moment I had some issue with the battery holder, it can cause a short with the shield, so I'll end by replacing it, but I want to keep the CR2032, because, they are cheap, easy to find, and they last longer than a CR1220.

But, tell me with which expansion you have an issue, and we see if can be accommodated.

can u share files for this project please

As I got my ACA1233 RTC I had like 10 different coin cells at home but had to wait for another 5 days to get those CR1220s.

So yes, please stay with the CR2032 Design. Like you said, more capacity, cheap and so much easier to get. Many dont use the shield anymore and a simple warning for users to use insulation between battery and shield should be enough IMHO.

If the RTC module doesnt fit on the ACA1233 you could just use the A1200 mainboard clockport instead (while still using the 1233 of course), or am I wrong?
