Well...
The boxart, screenshots and music will all be available as separate packs to download, you then simply unzip (sorry you lha weirdos) them to the corresponding paths. If you have every single game installed and you want to have all screenshots available (1x Title shot, 2x In-game shots) then you are looking at around 300mb. If you only put 1 screenshot for each game in the screenshot folder, then only they will be displayed, it's up to you, the menu just uses whatever is there. As for boxart, around 90mb. Although that's boxart for every single game which won't in fact be the case as some games don't have boxes. And then there's music, there's currently around 20mb of in-game tunes, I'll add to this when I start looking for some more! And finally the menu itself and it's skin files, which should come to no more than 5mb. You'll need to install some games as well |

So < 500MB for the fully monty? Perfect. I wanted to make sure I had room for KGLoad and all the slaves on my games partition and it sounds like everything should fit.

currently my KG-games directory is about 4.49GB already, so everything will not fit on a nice DVD.
But i could be nice if somebody would put the whole pack (KGLoad + games) on bittorrent, once finished. maybe it will happen. now, if the rest of the games on HOL that have no whdload install would get one, this would have 2 consequences: 1) happiness (relative) 2) TCD could not use anymore "the game has no WHDLoad install" as a hint in the Guess the Screenshot game... |

I'd be willing to put together a torrent, but obviously I wouldn't put my name to it as it's got kick roms on it!

Well the torrent of the full lot would have to contain kickstart images to fully work, but it could be distributed without them, people would just have to download them from somewhere else Oh or "use transrom to get them from.... yawn"

Aye, and that raises me next question. How many megabytes total for all of your packs unzipped and ready to go? I know it's < 7GB because I was able to fit them on a ~7GB partition. And while I'm asking, how many megabytes for the demos?

Total for the packs unpacked (this is including dupes such as "Epic" being installed alongside "Epic & Mission Disk") is just under the 4gb mark IIRC.
I really couldn't tell you off the top of my head for the demos, but there aren't THAT many so I doubt it's more than 500mb, 1gb ABSOLUTE tops. |
