I wouldn't imagine for a moment that he's deliberately lied. It would be more realistic (and far more courteous) to assume that either he's forgotten, is too busy or is having trouble locating the necessary files or writing the documentation.

I do not think so and still hope the best. Christmas and New Year was busy, so I will be back remembering in a month...

Seems not so... so sad, AmiFTP is really one of the best ftp-clients.

I suppose a quick legal response would be to do something illegal and I bet they will then reply lol... jokes aside, did you get any correspondence at all?

Lost forever? Or can maybe someone fix the last available release?

For what its worth, I was given permission to release the source code of the original AmiFTP under MIT from the original author Magnus Lilja. That is, the version the 4.0 fork was built on. However, when that is out, maybe it would be easier to motivate the 4.0 fork authors to also release their work under MIT. I just need to get some time to testbuild it and prepare the package, might take a few weeks before I have the time. Stay tuned.

AmiFTP code has been uploaded and released under MIT https://gitlab.com/amigasourcecodepreservation.
I haven't had the time to build and clean up the archive, and I noticed that there are some hardassigns in the smakefiles to DH1. If someone would like to build it and clean it up a little bit it would be awesome. I'll also send a mail to the OS-4 devs and see if they would like to release their updated code now that the 3.x is out. |

Got an answer from Joachim who did the 4.x update and that code is gone in a hardware crash. But at least the last 3.x version if available.
