Actually Crazy kong (and crazy kong II) is modified but only slightly, adapting it would be easy. We'll see.
I forgot how good the Bignonia version was. And how bad Monkey Business is... |

It plays pretty well, but it would be way better imho if the graphics weren't streched ... made it kinda ugly Well, and Monkey Business....it exists... ported from the Mac to the AMIGA. Ohhhhh, i am so excited about DK.. One of my favorites First Pac-Man, Ms.Pac-Man, Amidar, Scramble, Xevious, Galaxian, Pengo, Karate Champ, (Super)Bagman, Tetris and now DK. Thank you so very much JOTD Last edited by Torti-the-Smurf; 21 January 2024 at 02:41. Reason: ok, ok - maybe as a chooseable Option - Crazy Kong would be neat... BUT only as an OPTION :) DK DK |

I'll follow your advice for the itch part: I'll create a Crazy Kong entry that will be more prudent.

I don't do requests But if you have arguments that can be discussed. - reversed source code from arcade machine - not too many colors/layers (doable) - cult classic Small update as long as I'm posting something: 2 levels are fully playable, all 4 screens are running but unplayable because of local bugs. Looking very good. |

Will your version of the game be faithful to the original, i.e. will a rolling barrel always fall on us when we are on a ladder? Will it be possible to change the direction of the barrel by changing Mario's direction towards the ladder? In the original, when you passed a ladder and there was a barrel rolling on the upper platform and you changed direction towards the ladder you passed, the barrel fell down the ladder instead of continuing rolling on the upper platform.

As it's transcoding, normally it behaves like the original...

I am definitely not doing C64 ports, only arcade.
Jungle Quest is actually arcade Jungle Hunt/Jungle King/Pirate Pete. It could be on my todo list. So could be Pooyan... Quote:

hear me out but i would love all of these arcade ports you are making to be bundled together into some kind of "arcade collection" like the Konami Classics or whatever we get on consoles!

Yes, it would be nice, but each game takes at least 200kb, sometimes compressed, so if I do that, that will be a compilation using AGS and running from HD.

It seems non scrolling games could be easier to port? Have you looked into Bank Panic - it was a huge success back then, runs on z80 and is one of the most original games ever. None of the ports (mostly called West Bank) really captured it that well.

Scrolling games are always harder, but doable. Actually the scrolling logic is done in the original code too (replicate tiles, change scroll register at the proper time). When I ported Xevious (from Mark 68000 code) I didn't have so many issues with it. I didn't know Bank Panic, so I don't think I'll go for it. Code:
Either that or a CD32 release, it'd be great to have a CD full of arcade games |

How about 6809 games, is that in your mind for the future?
There are some good titles there, like simpsons and rolling thunder. |
