Yes, I am aware of what "always on top" is -But I wasn't sure if this was what you meant with "always visible". I don't think the function is that interesting myself, but on the other hand not much work either (at least not on Windows)... so we'll see...

What is the use case for this? It would be less work to (for instance) implemented it only as a configuration option and fix it on startup, but then you would not be able to toggle it on/off..

I write about my suggestion and bug reports in other topics about FS-UAE but after EAB is back I seen this topic. So I ask once again is it possible to enable multimedia keys for control other software - for example WinAMP which play net radios in background when I playing. It will be very useful for me. Thanks in advice and keep up good work Btw, I must find some time and learn more about lists in Python which I barely know or even almost have none knowledge about it and finish to translate Python to Delphi WinAPI to make as small as possible and ready to use as single exe file server for Windows OS.

E.g.: It would give the ability to play while having another window in the background (Web browser, TV...). No need to use Alt-Tab in this case. This feature is basic but may be useful for some players

Are there any options in particular you're missing?

OK, I'll answer this one here too

Netplay game browsing / setup will never be embedded into FS-UAE itself, but I have an in-development external launcher for FS-UAE with chat rooms and game setup functionality, but progress is slow since FS-UAE itself gets most attention.

I put this from your web site here also online:

Hi Frode, I’ve another feature request, but the english amiga board doesn’t work at this time. Is it possible, that all files in a default dirs (i.e. floppies or cdroms) are listed automatically in FS-UAE for selection? In this case, the config option “floppy_image_x” isn’t needed anymore. Greets
I know, you read it on your web site, but EAB is now online again

I'd second that request - I know it is against frode's strategy to create basically one setup per game and run fs-uae via external game selector/launcher, but I'd love to have this feature, too.

Best regards,
Peter

I'm not really against a floppy selector (etc), I just don't plan to embed a full configuration editor and/or configuration/game browser into FS-UAE itself. I may very well implemented a browse function for removable media (floppies, CDs), but it isn't at the top of my TODO-list

Just copy the URL for the current version, and replace the version number in the URL! All published versions are still there.

Hi Frode,

It would be nice to see the floppy/hard drives activity
(in windowed & full-screen modes)

Yes, it doesn't work. And a led is probably not the best choice for the windowed mode

Yes, I will add some kind of indicator support. Will probably use the left side of the screen (from the bottom and up) to place indicators (only visible on demand) on top of the screen, since this won't then obscure anything when using aspect correction and widescreen monitors. Also plan to add warning indicators for framerate (and possible some netplay indicators) the same way. Just have to draw some examples and see what looks good first...

Good suggestion, but it won't work. UAE has code to draw leds on the framebuffer, but this is only enabled when the framebuffer is at least 800x600. FS-UAE always uses a fixed framebuffer size (currently 752x572).

New tools are coming...

I posted a bit info in response to a question over in the net play thread:
http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=...&postcount=235

So I thought I'd do a short preview here too, to let you know what's coming.

The launcher application (shown in the screenshot) will be able to launch both local games and net play games (with built-in lobby / game channel support). The launcher will especially simplify setup for net play games as it ensures that everyone has compatible config, identical floppy images, and that everyone can connect properly to the net play server before launching FS-UAE.

The initial version(s) will focus on doing the basic stuff well, and not all FS-UAE features will be supported from the start. Later, the launcher will probably be extended with some sort of visual game browser.

The second screenshot shows the new joystick/gamepad configuration tool. This will most likely be bundled with the above launcher so I don't have to make so many different packages

Making distribution packages for these new tools will take some time. For Windows, I will probably also create an installer with both FS-UAE + launcher bundled.
